John Kerwin of AlteredBible.com and Wake Up Or Else joins Candid Truth for a powerful and controversial conversation about what he believes is supernatural evidence that all Bibles are changing. This is not a debate about modern translations, NIV vs KJV, or casual misquoting. The question being raised is far more shocking: could words in the King James Bible — verses many Christians memorized, preached, studied, and repeated for decades — now read differently than millions remember?
The conversation begins with one of the strongest objections: “God promised to preserve His Word.” But what exactly does the Bible mean by “the Word”? Is the Word of God always referring to the physical book in your hand, or does Scripture itself define the Word as Jesus Christ, the living Word? John argues that many Christians have unconsciously treated “Bible,” “Scripture,” and “Word” as identical terms, when passages like John 1:1 and Revelation 19 point directly to Christ as the Word of God.
From there, the evidence becomes deeply unsettling. John discusses his pastor survey, where pastors were given multiple-choice Bible memory questions and repeatedly chose the same “wrong” answers at statistically shocking rates. Examples include “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away,” “Judge not lest ye be judged,” “the lion shall lay down with the lamb,” “olive branch,” “live by the sword, die by the sword,” and “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” According to John, these are not random mistakes — they are examples of unified memory across believers, pastors, and Bible readers.
This raises the question Christians do not want to ask: are millions of people simply misremembering the same Scriptures the same way, or is something far stranger happening? If pastors, Bible teachers, lifelong Christians, and content experts all remember the same wording, while the text now reads differently, the “misremembering” explanation begins to feel too small for the evidence.
The discussion also explores residual evidence — old books, sermons, newspapers, artwork, and references that appear to preserve the wording people remember, even though those renderings supposedly never existed in the Bible. John connects this to prophetic warnings about a famine for hearing the words of the Lord, the beast seeking to change times and laws, and the possibility that God may be allowing judgment on a church that knows the book intellectually but has lost living relationship with Christ.
This is not a call to abandon the Bible. It is a call to wake up. Jesus fought Satan with “It is written,” and every Christian should be storing the Word of God in their heart, studying Scripture, praying for discernment, and clinging to Christ above tradition, church systems, and sentimental assumptions. If the Bible Mandela Effect is real, then the urgency to memorize Scripture, know Jesus personally, and be filled with the Holy Spirit has never been greater.
Are Bible Mandela Effects real? Is the King James Bible changing? Did the “lion and lamb” become the “wolf and lamb”? Was it “My people perish” or “My people are destroyed”? Did Jesus say “Judge not lest ye be judged,” or has it always read differently? This is one of the most disturbing, fascinating, and spiritually serious conversations we have ever had on Candid Truth.
