Our fourth visit to Twinwood Festival, 2014 TheVintageNews 2014-09-05 | As has become quite a tradition for The Vintage News, over the August bank holiday we set off for Twinwood Airfield near Bedford to enjoy the 14th Twinwood Festival, celebrating music, dance and culture from the 1940s. Held again at the Bloomsbury Ballroom, entertainment was provided by chap regular, Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer as well as a production of Vivian Stanshall's Sir Henry at Rawlinson's End. London to Brighton Veteran Car Run 2013 TheVintageNews 2013-11-07 | On a very chilly Sunday morning, we went up to Crawley for the half-way tea break of the 117th anniversary of the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, the world's longest running motoring event. The run featured around 500 pre-1905 vehicles and we joined them in our (incredibly modern) 1934 Morris 10 for the rest of the 60-mile journey down to the Brighton seafront.

Bootlegger launch at Blue Tit salon TheVintageNews 2013-10-09 | An autumnal Wednesday night saw The Vintage News team in a trendy salon in the heart of Clapton in East London. The reason? The official launch of Bootlegger White Grain Spirit at the consciously stylish Blue Tit salon. The evening was a heady mix of delectable cocktails (all with at least a dash of Bootlegger of course) fabulous gramophone music provided by the Vintage 78 DJs and moustache trimming from the salon's own stylists.

The Chap Olympiad 2013 TheVintageNews 2013-08-02 | We took our third trip up to Bedford Square Gardens in London for one of our favourite events, the Chap Olympiad.We chatted to a few attendees, both new and old and had a look what was going on. Featured are a few new events such as the Beach Volley-bowler and the Well-Dressage and old favourites such as the (increasingly dangerous) Umbrella Jousting and Briefcase Phalanax.We also managed a quick interview with Jeni Siggs and Fleur DeGuerre, two thirds of the Vintage Mafia. The awards were organised by Kate Molloy of The Vintage Directory and sponsored by The Vintage Salon and Vintage Life Magazine. Vintage Parade at the Winchester Guildhall TheVintageNews 2013-05-02 | We popped along to Winchester to attend the very first Vintage Parade in the historic city. Bluebell Railway opens new station at East Grinstead TheVintageNews 2013-04-10 | We visited Sheffiled Park station to see the first train to leave for East Grinstead on the Bluebell Railway since 1967.
