His photograph appears on a number copies of sheet music and he released a small number of records on Regal, Zonophone and Imperial. He appeared on the same bill as George Robey in Southampton in June 1930. The Wireless and Gramophone Trader stated on 30th August 1930 that his new releases under the name of Uncle Henry, "Both are fair, though the humour is moderately crude. Nevertheless, the disc will appeal to a certain class of buyer." If you listen to the words and his delivery on this recording, Henry Hearty can be heard in the likes of Frankie Howerd and Larry Grayson.One-Way Ticket from Westerbork (Holocaust Memorial Day 2021)jonjamg2020-08-04 | New Book to be published 27th January 2021 by Amsterdam Publishers
Trains left Westerbork for Occupied Eastern Europe with Jews and other prisoners, to killing centres or concentration camps. Only 2% survived. Amongst those sent to their deaths, were Willy Rosen, Max Ehrlich, Kurt Gerron, Hermann Feiner, Johnny and Jones as well as Etty Hillesum, Leo Kok and Philip Mechanicus. The book details the lives of 105,250 people sent from the camp. It sheds light on the Buhne Westerbork, the "Best Cabaret in Europe". It gives names to numbers and questions that the last Kommandant knew nothing of the murder, even though Adolf Eichmann visited the camp and watched performances of Willy Rosen and the other members of the Cabaret.
The Music is "Auf fer Heide" by Willy Rosen from a disc of KZ Music recorded by Francesco Lotorro. אויב אשוי לובע - If I am marriedAlfred Strauss - Servus Wien 1932jonjamg2019-12-14 | Alfred Strauss: Appeared in the Universal Film Lexikon, Berlin for 1932. But had disappeared by 1933. There is very little known about Strauss. It may well be that he was a Jew and by 1933 had been arrested, or left the country. Either way he seems to have disappeared and there is no record of a distinguished Opera Coach working elsewhere in the world. In 1932 he is given this eloquent short biography and then in 1933 is nowhere, like so many Jews.
Margot Walter, Camilla Horn, Betty Bird, Willy Fritsch. Lilian Harvey, Walter Janssen, Friedl Haerlin, Tamara Desni, Marianne Kupfer, Ossi Oswalda, Renate Müller, Erika von Thell- mann, Gustav Froehlich, Pinajeff, Carla Carlsen, Fee Malten usw. Diese Namen dürften für sich selbst sprechen und jede weitere Erläuterung überflüssig machen.
Who does not know Alfred Strauss, the great master of song, the famous teacher who has trained countless voices or opera, musical comedy and the talking film? Alfred Strauss is to-day at the height of his creative power. A
very large proportion, if not most, of the well known Berlin stage and screen actors and actresses "sing his praises" each day, not only in Berlin itself, but all over the World. The following are a few of his pupils who have already definitely "arrived": Fritz Schulz, Eduard Lichtenstein, Carola Neher, Max Hansen, Cordy Milowitsch, Willy Forst, Emmy Sturm, Margot Walter, Camilla Horn, Betty Bird, Willy Fritsch, Lilian Harvey, Walter Janssen, Friedl Haerlin, Tamara Desni, Marianne Kupfer, Ossi Oswalda, Renate Müller, Erika von Thell- mann, Gustav Froehlich, Pinajeff, Carla Carlsen, Fee Malten, etc. These famous names speak for themselves in more than one sense, and tell Alfred Strauss' story completely and eloquently.Franz Engel Was ist das Sonderbare an der Frauen 1937jonjamg2019-11-29 | Columbia Recording sung by Franz Engel Franz Engel was born on September 16, 1898 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. This man was multi-talented and fluent in various langauges. He was imprisoned in Sachsenhausen as a Homosexual, where he was tormented. There are stories of his maltreatment and that he was forced to commit suicide, although he actually died at Hartheim, where he was gassed and his remains were cremated and the ashes returned to Berlin, but were not buried and still sit on a shelf at the Cemetery. The Nazis covered up the murder with the story that Paul committed suicide. Added to this was the dubious reference to his being forced to commit suicide. This was a regular practice at Sachsenhausen, but not in the case of Paul O'Montis.
