saturated and unsaturated carbon compounds || 3D animated explanation || class 10th ||

Carbon compounds can be classified into saturated and unsaturated based on the types of bonds between carbon atoms.

1. Saturated Carbon Compounds
These compounds contain only single bonds between carbon atoms.
They are also called alkanes (general formula: Cβ‚™Hβ‚‚β‚™β‚Šβ‚‚).
Example: Methane (CHβ‚„), Ethane (Cβ‚‚H₆), Propane (C₃Hβ‚ˆ)

2. Unsaturated Carbon Compounds
These compounds contain at least one double or triple bond between carbon atoms.
They are classified into:
Alkenes (contain double bonds) – Example: Ethene (Cβ‚‚Hβ‚„), Propene (C₃H₆)
Alkynes (contain triple bonds) – Example: Ethyne (Cβ‚‚Hβ‚‚), Propyne (C₃Hβ‚„)
