I've listened to Mötley Crüe for most of my life, so this wasn't one of those concerts where I was wondering what they were going to play. I already knew these songs inside and out. For me, it was about being there one more time and enjoying the night.

I'll be honest, before the show started I wondered how Vince Neil was going to sound. After everything he's been through over the past couple of years, I think that's a fair question. Multiple strokes, having to relearn how to walk...just getting back on a stage like this is something I have a lot of respect for.

Did everything sound perfect? No, and I wasn't expecting it to. A few songs were definitely a little slower than I remembered, the vocals were rough here and there, and Vince leaned on the teleprompter a few times. None of that took away from the experience for me. If anything, it made me appreciate seeing him out there even more. Sometimes just showing up takes more strength than people realize.

The thing I kept noticing was how much fun everyone was having. Every time another classic started, people were singing before Vince even got to the microphone. It didn't matter if it was "Wild Side," "Shout at the Devil," "Home Sweet Home," "Girls, Girls, Girls," or "Kickstart My Heart." Thousands of voices took over. It felt less like a concert and more like a group of old friends getting together to relive a part of their lives for a couple of hours.

John 5 was exactly what I hoped he'd be. He respected Mick Mars' guitar parts without trying to become Mick Mars, and I thought he did a fantastic job. Tommy Lee still looked like he was having the time of his life behind the drums, and Nikki Sixx was doing what Nikki has always done, keeping everything moving and making sure the crowd stayed right there with them from beginning to end.

Driving home afterwards, I caught myself wondering if I'd just seen Mötley Crüe for the last time. Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't. But if this ends up being my last Crüe show, I'm really glad I was there. These songs have been part of my life for decades, and spending one more night singing them with thousands of other fans is something I'll remember for a long time.

"No Place Like You" is from Thousand Below's 2017 debut album The Love You Let Too Close. Released early in the band's career, the album introduced Thousand Below to a wider post-hardcore audience and established many of the musical elements that would continue to develop across their later releases.

"No Place Like You" comes from that earlier period of the band's sound, with the heavier post-hardcore foundation and emotional songwriting that characterized much of The Love You Let Too Close. The lyrics broadly deal with loss, relationships and the difficulty of carrying unresolved emotions while trying to remain close to someone else.

Nearly a decade after the album's release, "No Place Like You" remains part of Thousand Below's live repertoire. The band performed it at HISTORY in Toronto on July 15, 2026, while supporting Poppy on the Constantly Nowhere Tour, with LANDMVRKS also appearing on the bill.

"Superman" is from Goldfinger's second studio album, Hang-Ups, released in 1997. It became one of the band's most recognizable songs and one of the tracks most closely associated with the late-1990s ska punk era.

The song is about trying to keep everything together while dealing with uncertainty, getting older and the pressure to have life figured out. The idea of "pretending I'm Superman" captures that feeling of trying to appear capable and in control even when things aren't quite that simple.

"Superman" also gained a huge second life through the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game series. Its inclusion in the original 1999 game introduced Goldfinger to an enormous audience and helped make the song inseparable from skateboarding and video game culture for an entire generation.
