Wheres My Pencil? In this video I show how I built a new fence at the back of my garden. The total fence length is 8.2m including the gate which is 90cm wide. I did it what I consider to be the easy way; using galvanised steel brackets, 4x4 posts, arris rails, feather board and gravel board (all pre treated wood). I also used post crete which sets really quickly. In total it took me about 1 1/2 days to build on my own including removing the old fence and building a custom gate (not in this video). Some people like to use pre-made panels but I think this is more difficult if you don't have a specific length of fencing to do that is divisible by the size of the panels and I also think that feather board with rails looks better for the effort involved. I bought nearly all my materials from Wickes in the UK. I used: 4 x 2.4m 100mmx100mm posts 10 packs of 1.8m feather board 9 x 2.4m arris rails (some had to be cut down) 7 bags of post crete 18 x arris rail brackets (from Screwfix) 6 x gravel board brackets 3 x 2.4m gravel boards (again 1 had to be cut down) Some wood treatment for any newly cut edges Stainless steel screws in 1/4", 1" and 1 1/4" sizes

I purchased from Rutlands in the UK; a very good woodworking supplier.
I have found the identical unit on amazon in the US (link below).
I've also put 2 UK links below, one for the the Rutlands item and another for the Record Power version on Amazon UK. The Record Power version is slightly more expensive than the Rutlands item which I think is on offer at the time of posting this video.

To build the station I have used 63mm x 38 mm (1 1/2" x 2 1/2") CLS timber and also 6mm, 12mm and 18mm plywood. The station is held together by 2" pocket screws. It is 90cm high (about 3ft). I have added castors to the station so I can move it around and have built a shelf at the bottom to put things on. In another video I will build a folding outfeed to attach to the station.
I've re-edited the video to make it a bit shorter and hopefully slightly more enjoyable.

My daughter Isla arrived 2 1/2 weeks late in October 2016 and due to complications with the birth she contracted a serious bacterial infection. She was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the hospital where she was born and spent a week in a combination of Intensive Care and the Special Care Unit before luckily being allowed home.
The unit is fantastic and does a great job looking after mainly premature babies and their families. There are a lot of babies that aren't as lucky as Isla and don't come home after a week some are in the unit for months.
The NICU Appeal was launched to raise additional funds to buy extra equipment and enhance the unit to ensure that all the babies will be treated in the best possible environment. 1 in 7 babies born at the Luton & Dunstable University Hospital will need specialist care. Over 900 premature and sick babies are treated in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) every year.
In this video I build a very simple bench mounted router table for my 1/4" DeWalt router trimmer. I got the idea from one made by Steve Ramsey.
The table and fence are made from 18mm MDF and 38x63 CLS timber for the frame which is fixed together using pocket screws. I used some aluminium t-track with t-bolts for the fence to slide along.
I use a double flute straight router bit with a bearing at the top to cut out the square for the acrylic and the groves for the t-track. Some people call it a template or profiler bit. The bearing runs along and follows the MDF template I placed around the acrylic and T-Track which is then removed and and cuts a square/grove to the exact size. You need to set the bit to the same depth as the acrylic or T-Track Here is a link to the bit I used: trenddirectuk.com/46-900x1-4tc?gclid=Cj0KEQjwuOHHBRDmvsHs8PukyIQBEiQAlEMW0Cxzp70vLUn8olgPuV0H0NDPeqNfSunSUIm2Kc0PhuYaAhEM8P8HAQZero Clearance Insert from a Chopping Board for a DeWalt DW745 Table SawWheres My Pencil?2017-04-02 | In this video I make new zero clearance insert for my DeWalt DW745 table saw. I've had the saw about 3 months and have had a few subscribers ask my thoughts so thought I'd do a review.
The saw is from Screwfix and costs £99.99.
It's very much a budget hobby saw but for the money I think it is great especially as it has a 2 year guarantee.

This video focusses on the build of the stop block. I use a large piece of pine that started off as 20x10x100cm. I cut it into an L shape fit a spline and then use some acrylic to use as a gauge on the tape measure. The inspiration for the stop block came from Jay Bates and Jackman Works.
