Mode 2, Config E1 (see Issues below)
Needs Mode 2 to resolve laggy movement and timing of music.
Issue: Black screen (strange OPL issue). Solution to black screen: Go to your main FreeMcBoot menu, select Free HDBoot Configurator, select Configure E1 launch keys, select Circle button, select your OPL 1.0 ELF file (OPL app), go to Return, and select Save CNF to MC1 (Memory Card slot 1), Mass (if using USB), or hdd0 (internal hard drive). MAKE SURE YOU SAVE. Reboot console after saving. When FreeMcBoot logo appears, hold Circle button to automatically launch OPL. Once OPL library appears, scroll to Cartoon Network Racing and press Cross/X to run game. Make sure Mode 2 is set in Game Settings before running game. You will have to automatically boot to OPL every time you want to run this game. ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION: Have Configure E1 launch keys, select AutoBoot, and select OPL 1.0 ELF file, and Save CNF (as stated above). This will autoboot to OPL every time you boot up your PS2.
No crashing experienced at extensive testing.
Enjoy.

Thought: The original XIII is way better. This remake does not feature multiplayer mode with bots like the original did (only local and online). Although it has cleaner and more updated graphic style, the art style in the XIII from 2003 (Gamecube, PS2, original Xbox and PC) is a more unique and appealing one. I don't remember the original XIII ever having to crash on me, so that is another negative for this remake. Overall, this remake is pretty bland to me.
Anyways, enjoy.

Thoughts: The game itself is intact. The iconic main menu from the original was removed. Controls can be confusing and can't be mapped at all through settings. The background can't be removed as there is no options to have a black background. Game cannot be stretched to 16:9, so 4:3 is the only aspect ratio provided. No options for filters. Overall, this is a bit of a disappointment for these reasons.
Anyways, enjoy.

So far, these are the best settings for my laptop. The goal here was to reach 60fps during gameplay without going under 720p resolution. Specs/results shown below.

16 GB DDR4 Dual RAM
1 TB HDD
Game settings: 2:32
1280x720p
V-Sync: On
Anti-Aliasing/Shadows/Textures/Post Processing: Low
Result: FPS ranges around 48-60 without recording during gameplay/entrances (some dips below 50fps occur during loading/changing menus). Overall, game runs very well on this laptop and is very fun.
MSI Afterburner software utilized for benchmarking and recording.

Turns out this TV can seamlessly transition between 240p and 480i resolutions (I kept clicking the remote button to show the resolution - doesn't display when switching resolutions).
Supports both 4:3 (seen here) and 16:9 ratio.
Enjoy.
.
Bootup time: 19 secs - updated Cerbios bios (currently supports up to 8tbs hard drives).
Result: Fast bootup time
Soft boot: Successful, does not crash into Error 07 due to slow hard drive read times.
Result: Fast hard drive read times.
Tested with 80pin IDE/SATA cable. Xbox 1.0 TSOP.
Software used TruHexen and Fatxplorer.
AVOID THESE ADAPTERS (also shown near the end of this video)
- Model: AOK-PCB01 V 1.0 (slow boot times, crashes upon soft boot Error 07 - good fit)
- Model: VER: MO3C (same issues as AOK one, and terrible fit - sticks out a bit).
I spent two weeks completing this project. Learned so much on this journey.
Thanks to all that have helped me in this project. I truly appreciate it.

Review: This game released on June 6, 2006 never made it out of the PAL region and thank goodness too.
Controls: Controls are unique. The face buttons (Triangle, Square, Circle) are used for striking, Cross/X button for blocking, and the top buttons (R1, R2, L1, L2) are used for grapples (grapples must be combined with any striking button to initiate move). Every wrestler has the same 4 grapple moves (belly to belly suplex - R1, chokeslam - R2, Rock bottom/arm slam - L2, and a kneeling piledriver - L1). Press up or down on d-pad while striking for body and head shots. Movement is done through the d-pad. Taunting is done by pressing Circle and Triangle together. Buttons need to be pressed in a timely manner as well as simultaneously. Controls are not explained at all in the game, which makes me believe that the manual explained the controls (I had to figure out everything on my own here, too lazy to look online).
Graphics: Not bad for its time. The crowd around the ring are 2D and paper thin and out of focus. The menus are a pretty basic in design. There is no intro video/FMV to introduce the game. Both the fighters and the ring are well designed and featured in 3D. This game runs at 50fps (due to regional specs for TVs) and has quite a bit of motion blur when moving around.
Sound: The techno tunes for this game are okay. As for the sounds of striking and bodies hitting the mat of the ring from grapples, they are a bit loony (they remind me of the classic Final Fight and Double Dragon games). The crowd does not make any noise or reaction sound and there is no commentary. There is a ring bell that sounds off before and after each round and when the match has ended. There is some voice overs from the characters but nothing amazing ("You're dead" lol).
Gameplay: Not great. This game is buggy. You will see grapples being performed without the opponent (lmao). Hit detection is awful and can cheese your way to victory very easily. You can fight through a challenge mode that has you facing 20 opponents in 1-on-1 (some opponents are the same ones under different names) and gain titles as you climb the ranks. There is also a friendly bout mode where it is a friendly 1-on-1 match with the CPU or 2 player. From the start, you can only pick from 6 different fighters. Despite the title of this game, the rules of this game are not of wrestling, but they are rules from boxing. The only way to win is to knock out the opponent, no pinning or submissions. You get breaks in between rounds that have mash the X/Cross button to regain part of your health. The HUD features two types of health (the big one being stamina, the small one is your health). The matches end when the stamina meter is low and the health meter is depleted or there are 3 knockouts in one round. There are no celebrations or entrances for the fighters, even when winning titles.
Overall (4/10): I could not get myself to climb all the way to the top of the rankings as I was getting bored from how tedious this game was becoming. As I stated above, this game is buggy and gameplay is an enjoyable experience. At first, I thought the game has button delay issues, but it turns out that every strike and grapple needs to be timed, which can get annoying (mashing the same button fast makes the character react to those commands in a delayed manner). Anyways, I started to fall asleep by the end of this recording of my gameplay here. This game is not the worst game but definitely not the best. For these reasons, I do not recommend this game, unless you want to torture someone for losing a bet.
