Excuse me your rudeness, we’ve met once before, the name’s dawn!” Yes the iconic meeting) XD I wasn’t really gonna add sm effects to it and all since this was for fun, but I ended up experimenting quite a bit haha. Pokemon - Champion [Vent AMV] // ANNOUNCEMENT Ophelia’s Edits 2024-02-04 | ANNOUNCEMENT:I had been dreading to write this here but... I am officially done with AMV-editing. I had actually posted about this in my studios a yr ago, but that time, I was still thinking and needed time to contemplate on what I would pursue in future. Now that the yr has ended tho and I have finally reached a conclusion, I just don't have time to edit AMVs any longer. One of my future plans includes motion graphics, so I am still going to edit (I am actually learning AE) - sure - but just not AMVs... Earlier I didn't drop it completely and kept learning on the side (altho I made very little progress), but now I also need to focus on many other things to keep my options open. It's crazy to think I have been editing AMVs for 5 yrs now (started my channel 2 yrs late and then moved to this channel), which has introduced me to so many wonderful people! Thank you for the support, I really appreciate it! AMVs always helped me release my emotions without feeling that I am overexaggerating, in a way that nothing else can! So you guys might get extremely small vent edits once in a while, old parts I never posted or incomplete projects, but that's it lol. But yeah, no more AMV projects for me :) ABOUT THIS EDIT:After venting to my friend, I wished to do something that would make me happy and distract me since I had been overthinking and studying for hrs, so I decided to edit. I didn't know what I would edit tho. I just opened my old incomplete projects and dunno why this song just felt... right! Now that I have finished this, I see that it's because despite knowing what to do most of the time in my gut, I just don't listen to it. Most teens are not EXPECTED to know things and because of that, I subconsciously hold myself back and try to find someone who can help me decide, when in truth, the only person I need a lot of times... is me. I listen to everyone, to always reach at the conclusion that what I had thought initially... was right and I didn't need to waste sm time. But IDK how to trust that instinct ATM. It's like I am afraid almost? because I already know... when most people my age don't. I am always highly motivated by a greater cause, but that lack of belief in myself always hinders me. And when I try to explain people, their response always gives the vibes of "If I didn't know at your age, how do you?" Well, I am not you, and I genuinely invest time everyday on knowing myself. And even when I don't know, I approach myself, because IK what IDK. So yeah, editing this helped release those emotions without feeling silly, let me know what I was feeling and work on it. So it's kinda like a vent... but not completely? Like I was kinda sad, but it felt more like introspecting and editing in general than venting tbh.The clips didn't come as naturally to me 'cause I haven't edited in quite a while actually, but ofc Pokemon was the best choice for this song haha. Since I have never edited action AMVs and haven’t watched 90 percent of these animes, it was kind of hard to manage, but I still ended up earning 2nd place! I thought it would turn out trash since it’s not a ship I have much experience with, LOL, so considering that, I think it’s pretty good… Though my clip-selection looks rather basic in comparison to the rest of the edit, I feel… For the Contest part, I just made some corrections to my previous CS Day part, the roll transition being the most prominent, I suppose, and I also removed the light leak overlay and tried to fix that one scene, but I couldn’t figure it out :( (Also, you were right, it really helped that I had edited 48 secs of this months ago XD )When I had started the Pokeshipping part, I was positive it would turn out to be my best, but instead, when I rendered it, my flow turned out to be out of place at few secs… IDK why though, so I fixed it as best as I could, but sadly, it’s still not perfect :( BUT I am EXTREMELY proud of my clip-selection in that part, no doubt! Even if it has errors, this edit (mostly the Pokeshipping part) taught me the basics (like pan/ crop and flashes) of both DaVinci and Vegas, and also gave a direction to my style back then! Continuing this edit after so long was really hard for me though, because my recent style has changed a little from my previous… For eg., I would have preferred to add overlays and better fonts here at a lot of places, but old me had no idea about overlays, LOL. However, the continuous comments I kept receiving on my preview got me to pick this up again, somehow! Thank you to all who commented :3 My clip-selection in the Pokeshipping part is the weakest here, in comparison to my other parts, but I didn’t feel like changing anything the old me did, so it’s just like that - errors and all. I had also done half my CS part back then, but didn’t post it. It kind of tells a story at the start and it’s actually my fav. part here!! :3 (except that my STUPID Vegas just HAD to do a stupid glitch at 2:08 even when I rendered it twice!! I swear it just affects the flow I was going for so badly and I HATE it!)
