This year, the goal of the sixth MARCH team was to walk outside, to walk a route through Delft.After a year of hard work, the team, together with Koen succeeded in achieving this goal on August 22nd.
MARCHmade: OIM Orthopedie - Project MARCH Project MARCH 2021-06-15 | Het zesde team van Project MARCH is dit jaar een onderzoek gestart naar het verschil tussen het lopen van iemand met beperkingen in zijn bewegingsvrijheden en zonder beperkingen in zijn bewegingsvrijheden tijdens het lopen. Deze resultaten zullen uiteindelijk de basis vormen voor de looppatronen van het exoskelet. Voor dit onderzoek was een passief exoskelet nodig dat bewegingen bij een niet-gehandicapt persoon kon beperken. Het zesde team van Project MARCH had niet de kennis en middelen om zo'n passief exoskelet zelf te ontwikkelen. Hiervoor werd OIM Orthopedie benaderd. Zij waren gelijk heel enthousiast om een passief exoskelet te ontwikkelen voor dit onderzoek. Het passieve exoskelet is door hen helemaal op maat gemaakt. Door de technische expertise en het meedenken van de medewerkers van OIM Orthopedie voldoet het passieve exoskelet volledig aan de wensen van Project MARCH. Project MARCH in MOTION: Pilot Project MARCH 2021-01-04 | A new year means the introduction of our new pilot. After working together with Sjaan for three years we are very excited to announce that this year Koen van Zeeland will take over as pilot. Project MARCH is a team with 26 students and we build our exoskeleton in co-creation with our 27th team member, the pilot. We are looking forward to working with Koen and taking on the design challenges that a new pilot brings! Project MARCH is (once) again in MOTION.
Project MARCH in MOTION: Human Machine Interaction & Movement Project MARCH 2020-12-23 | Project MARCH in MOTION: Human Machine Interaction and Movement!Our two Movement Engineers are Floor and Wolf! Floor and Wolf make sure that our pilot can walk, sit and stand with movements that seem natural by creating patterns which the exoskeleton will follow. Lukas is our Human Machine Interaction Engineer. He is responsible for the connection between the pilot and exoskeleton, in our case the input device on the cruch.
Project MARCH in MOTION: Control Project MARCH 2020-12-17 | Project MARCH in MOTION: Control! These boys are our Control Engineers, Maarten and Herbert. Control is the analyzing of systems and with that information designing and implementing controllers that calculate and deliver the right amount of voltage to the joints of the exoskeleton to make it perform the desired walking patterns. Project MARCH in MOTION: Software & Data Project MARCH 2020-12-15 | Project MARCH in MOTION: Software and Data! We have our Data Analyst Thijs. He is responsible for all the data collection, and the use of this data. For example the data from the sensors! The Software department consisting of Katja and Bas, the Software Architects of MARCH and our Software Lead Thijs. They ensure the exoskeleton is reliable and monitor during the trainings.
Project MARCH in MOTION: Electrical & Embedded Systems Project MARCH 2020-12-10 | Project MARCH in MOTION: Electrical and Embedded Systems! We have our Electrical Engineers Robbert and Mart, they ensure that all components of the exoskeleton have sufficient power. And we have the Embedded Systems Department consisting of engineers Jeffrey and Jory. Their main task is to ensure that the electronics and software of the exoskeleton connect as well as possible.

On the left we have Sander and on the right we have Patrick, they are our joint engineers and are responsible for the eight joints of the exoskeleton. They make sure the exoskeleton can move as steady and smoothly as possible.

Our Frame department, consisting of Savanne and Sebastiaan, is responsible for the bones and the structure of the exoskeleton. Marsha, our Fixture Engineer, makes sure that Koen is comfortably connected to the exoskeleton. Our Design Engineer Martine protects the inside of the exoskeleton and takes care of the looks on the outside.
