The ride's three trains were manufactured by Edward Vettel, Sr. in 1951 and contain three cars of six seats each. The aging cars are considered a part of the ride's nostalgic experience but also lead to some young children being disallowed to enter the ride (42” is the minimum), due to the use of a small lap bar to hold in riders. A popular early feature of the ride was a tunnel which covered the turnaround section after the first drop, but this was removed in 1947 when the new cars were ordered. In 1991, the tunnel was restored, at a slightly shorter length.The Jack Rabbit was built shortly after Miller patented a new track design in 1920 (which all wooden coasters built since have used). Monster opened to the public on June 2, 2021.To access Monster, guests must descend to the station below ground. Upon dispatch, the train makes a left hand turn out of the station and into the lift hill, where it ascends aboveground to a peak height of 111.5 feet (34.0 m). Facing the waterfront, the train exits the lift hill into a tight curved drop – reaching a top speed of 55.9 mph (90.0 km/h) – and hastily enters into the first of three inversions; a zero-g roll. The train immediately navigates a Junior Immelmann loop and is followed shortly by a corkscrew inversion before entering a sweeping right hand turn by the park's northern boundary. Riders pop up into a counter-clockwise 270° helix around a central column, and then drop down into the ride's second and final corkscrew inversion. The coaster makes a right hand turn into its finale section, passing through a tunnel and rising over the brakes, where it makes a final left-hand turnaround close to the Jetline roller coaster before hitting the final brake run. The brake run takes riders down a controlled descent back below ground, where they pass through the transfer track and re-enter the station when cleared to do so. Upon dispatch, the train makes a left hand turn out of the station and into the lift hill, where it ascends aboveground to a peak height of 111.5 feet (34.0 m). Facing the waterfront, the train exits the lift hill into a tight curved drop – reaching a top speed of 55.9 mph (90.0 km/h) – and hastily enters into the first of three inversions; a zero-g roll. The train immediately navigates a Junior Immelmann loop and is followed shortly by a corkscrew inversion before entering a sweeping right hand turn by the park's northern boundary. Riders pop up into a counter-clockwise 270° helix around a central column, and then drop down into the ride's second and final corkscrew inversion. The coaster makes a right hand turn into its finale section, passing through a tunnel and rising over the brakes, where it makes a final left-hand turnaround close to the Jetline roller coaster before hitting the final brake run. The brake run takes riders down a controlled descent back below ground, where they pass through the transfer track and re-enter the station when cleared to do so. The ride opened in 2013 as a conversion of the Rattler, a wooden roller coaster that had opened in 1992. Iron Rattler is the first hybrid wood and steel roller coaster to feature an inversion, namely a zero-g-roll.Iron Rattler was designed by Alan Schilke and built by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC). The wooden Rattler had been constructed by Roller Coaster Corporation of America. At the time of its opening, the Rattler was the tallest and fastest wooden coaster in the world, with a height of 179 feet (55 m), a first drop of 166 feet (51 m) and a top speed of 73 mph (117 km/h). RMC modified the wooden Rattler by placing new steel track on top of the existing wooden support structure. The distance between the lowest and highest points of the first drop was increased from 124 to 171 feet (38 to 52 m) and the drop was made steeper by changing the angle to 81 degrees. The old style Arrow Development cars are made so the ride operator has to open them up manually. The ride normally operates with one or two trains due to the low popularity. While the ride does not have a high attendance, it is still a favorite of many guests because the ride is not as aggressive as the other roller coasters in the park. Children who prefer not riding the park's most aggressive rides such as: Apocalypse, Goliath, Revolution, Superman: Escape from Krypton and X2 ride Gold Rusher because the ride itself is not as aggressive and gives the guests a good amount of thrill. Wait times are usually no longer than 5 minutes during the off-peak season. It was the first roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain, making it a historic coaster. The ride has undergone little changes since it began operating in 1971.The coaster was temporarily closed after Christmas in 2012 due to the park's latest roller coaster, Full Throttle. Full Throttle was constructed near Goldrusher's first drop where Log Jammer used to be.
