Faust is my first venture into the games of Arxel Tribe and Cryo. It is a point and click game that looks into the darkness of humanity, not unlike the games I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, and The Dark Eye. Don't expect anything even close to Goethe's adaptation, but it is definitely the strangest yet one of the most interesting ones. Mephisto takes Faust to an abandoned amusement park, and he becomes a sort of objective arbitrator to help figure out which souls belong to Heaven, and which belong in Hell.
Cryo is definitely one of the most polarizing companies out there, but this entry got quite a bit of praise. Is it worth playing? Find out here.
Music is from Epidemic Sound. All songs are by the Magnus Ringbloom Quartet, except for the song A Dark Road to Nowhere by DEX 1200.

Vampires are definitely one of the most common mythos with a huge fanbase to boot. There are MANY iterations of them, some going beneath the radar. In this video I, alongside some friends, have brainstormed some criteria for vampires (such as blood access, combat, etc), and I prove that Radu from the Subspecies films is the most memorable vampire that I have seen thus far, by showing that he falls under an extreme in all criteria. Not to mention the fact that the films are fantastic as well.
Thanks for watching!

Endless Ocean, and its sequel Endless Ocean: Blue World, are one of the very few budget titles published by Nintendo for the Wii. The company Arika was known to make the more "git gud" games until they changed to a sort of proto-cozy game. In this video I explore the current cozy game movement, and how sequels should improve upon the original entry.

Tingle is one of the oddities of the Zelda franchise. Hated in the west, it is not as well known that there are a few spin off games starring him. Two of them are made by Vanpool who have an indirect connection to making games like Moon, Chrono Trigger, and Super Mario RPG. They were extremely interesting games to me because they both reached an overt topic that I didn't expect. These 2 DS games are titled Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, and Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love.
The manosphere may be a new term, but get rich/get laid quick schemes are as old as time itself. These games subverts standard game mechanics and even affects you, the player, to show the flaws of such grifts. This video essay not only shows the connection between these games and those grifts, but the partial nature as to why younger men tend to fall for them.

It was released in 1996, being developed by Divide By Zero, Ltd, and publised by Vic Tokai, Inc. Divide By Zero has been known for also releasing The Orion Conspiracy, Innocent Until Caught, and Guilty. This was received well, with Just Adventure comparing it, and saying it's as good, as the works of LucasArts and Sierra.
This game is FULL of references. It includes the work of H. G. Wells, mostly The Island of Doctor Moreau, but it also includes a reference to Around the World in 80 Days. Its subversive yet incredibly British humour has also been compared to Blackadder.

I am part of the Specialized Liberation Division, and I am here to talk about the story of the young WWI heroes Snoopy and Woodstock. They are both part in the Charlie Brown series, and Snoopy found himself inspired to fight in The Great War against the German ace pilot, Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthhofen, or The Red Baron. The battle was so successful that even The Royal Guardsmen made a chart-topping hit.
This explores the many dramatizations of the battle. Firstly there is Snoopy and the Red Baron for the Atari 2600, Snoopy vs The Red Baron for PS2, and Snoopy Flying Ace for the Xbox Live Arcade. Are these dramatizations faithful to Snoopy's heroic spirit? Find out here!

It was revolutionary for its time, and the lead designer, Roberta Williams, considers it the most challenging game of her career. It was an FMV point and click adventure game/interactive movie hybrid for the MS-DOS, that spanned 7 CDs. It's known to be a throwback to 1960s horror, dealing with the occult, and with obvious references to Stephen King.
The sequel, Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh, wasn't nearly as famous. It was designed by Lorelei Shannon, and was shot on location for the vast majority of the time, as opposed to the complete blue screen use of the first game.
The first entry is being considered a date game by today's standards, but the sequel is starting to gain a cult following. Me, a Pretentious Hipster, decided to once again explore these games, going through their journies, seeing what opinions are formed, and was hoping that no descent to madness would be caused by it. #thelegendofzelda #zelda #NES #nintendoPhineas and Ferb: Across The 2nd Dimension is a Bootleg Ratchet and Clank GamePretentious Hipster2022-06-10 | Phineas and Ferb is an American animated musical-comedy television series created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh for Disney Channel and Disney XD. Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series was originally broadcast as a one-episode preview on August 17, 2007, and again previewed on September 28, 2007; the series officially premiered on February 1, 2008, on Disney Channel, and ran until June 12, 2015.
The program follows Phineas Flynn and his stepbrother Ferb Fletcher, who are between eight and ten years old, during summer vacation. Every day, the boys embark on a grand new project, which is usually unrealistic in scale given the protagonists' ages (and are sometimes physically impossible). This annoys their controlling older sister Candace, who frequently tries to reveal their shenanigans to her and Phineas' mother, Linda Flynn-Fletcher, and less frequently to Ferb's father, Lawrence Fletcher. The series follows a standard plot system; running gags occur in every episode, and the subplot almost always features Phineas and Ferb's pet platypus Perry working as a spy named "Agent P" for the O.W.C.A. (Organization Without a Cool Acronym) to defeat the latest scheme of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, a mad scientist driven largely by a need to assert his evilness (although he is not genuinely evil and has a good heart in certain situations). The two plots intersect at the end to erase all traces of the boys' project just before Candace can show it to their mother, which usually leaves Candace very frustrated.
Phineas seems to be getting a strong nostalgic following these days. There obviously had to be some licensed games for it. What better way to do that than to release this game on both the Wii and PS3, since they had to utilize the motion controls of both consoles. Even better. There was a movie called Across the 2nd Dimension. Wouldn't that make the perfect tie-in? Also, out of all companies, they had High Impact Games develop it. Some employees were from Insomniac Games from Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Spyro, and Spider-man fame, and utilized mechanics from those games to make this. It's obviously inspired by LucasArts, down to the voice acting, puzzle style, and lighthearted humour. It's basically a parody of Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, the 19th century French classic novel. It seems to be getting somewhat of a resurgence in popularity, at least among the people who dig deep for point and click games, but the physical copies are so obscure that there weren't any ebay listings for years. Rent-a-Hero, a point and click adventure game by Neo Software, later renamed to Rockstar Vienna, that fell into obscurity. In fact, it seems like when I mentioned it in various places they confused it with the Sega Genesis title. As per the company, they described it as a game heavily inspired by LucasArts titles such as Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, & Loom. It is also full of references from films such as Star Wars and Back to the Future.
The best way to describe this game is if LucasArts made a Halloween-themed game for kids. Is it worth playing? Find out here.

Myst 3: Exile, was surprisingly not developed by Cyan. Riven: The Sequel to Myst, was created in 1997 by Cyan. Another point and click adventure game known for having even more goregeous pre-rendered images.
Although it lacked the huge success of the first entry (but still really successful), it's known today to have even more praise, including Glitchwave having it in the top 100 games of all time.
Harvester is a point and click adventure game that is considered to be one of, if not the most violent game ever made. It has a reputation for this, but I feel like this does a complete disservice to the game itself. It is actually an incredibly smart satire on various topics. I show what they are here.

Myst was created by Cyan in 1993. It was known to have revolutionized the point and click adventure genre with its gorgeous pre-rendered images, and an in-game world that most definitely achieves its escapism. It was also the best selling PC game until The Sims came in.

Severance: Blade of Darkness is an abandonware title developed by Rebel Act Studios and published by Codemasters. It is known for having a huge cult following, and a sort of precursor to the Souls series. I guess you could say that this is the Dark Souls of Soulslike games. It is known for having a simplistic plot, but the combat making up for it, being considered to have some of the best combat-systems that any video has ever made. In fact, it was never replicated to this day, and is even more complex than in the souls games!

Windows 3.1. This is something I definitely gotta look more into. I imagine this having a GUI must have been absolutely huge at the time, and the most interesting part about it is that no one really knew what to do with it. Of course, tons of adult games were made, but the more fascinating thing is the huge about of edutainment, and especially interactive movies. I definitely gotta jump on the last 2 more often for this channel now. Since trends weren't set, no matter how good or bad it is, the result tends to at least be interesting. Terror T.R.A.X.: Track of the Vampire seemed like one of the more interesting ones of the bunch. Unfortunately no, this is not in reference to the terror traxx label, but because of that I had to make the background music some hardcore techno and gabber. The only one I ended up playing was Math Circus, and I'm pretty sure they had that at like every grade when I was in school. I assume it must have been a huge craze since, well, there's these Star Wars ones. It's actually so vast with how many they have. They had their own company called Lucas Learning Ltd. This entry, Star Wars Droidworks, was one that stuck out to me the most. Physics was the science topic I was most interested in when I was in high school, and I took a few courses in university. I imagine that this would have been perfect for me to play in school back then. There had to be some quality in this too, at least for edutainment standards, since it was using the same engine as in Dark Forces 2. The highlight however doesn't come from the physics angle, but that it's a droid builder, and at that point I knew I had to get into it. I assume most of you that are watching this played this as a kid, so I try to answer this question. Is this fun to play now? Or would nostalgia be the only reason for one to try this. Find out here.

I do love to dig the bottom of the barrel for MS-DOS games, and found out about this very interesting entry called Alien Logic: A Skyrealms of Jorune Adventure. It's my first venture into the Strategic Simulations, Inc (SSI). games. Now these guys made a ton of stuff. They've got some stuff I wanna play like Veil of Darkness, but their highlights include the Panzer General games, and most notably The Dungeons and Dragons games, including the Advance DND ones. This leads me to what makes this an important point. This game is an adaptation of the Skyrealms of Jorune series. It's a science-fantasy DND-style tabletop made in the mid 80s to the early 90s.
It's quite rare in terms of its gameplay mechanics, especially for an RPG. You don't have XP, levels, armour, character creation, loot from enemies, and practically no melee attacks. So you're probably wondering. How do you get stronger? How do you find more skills? And, ios this game worth playing? Find out here.
The music used is the in-game music aside from the funk song in the beginning.
