DuoSkope - Behind the scenes BLOOPERS! Duo Skope 2019-04-01 | It wouldn't be April Fools' Day without a good laugh!! There are so many elements to putting one of our videos together, and sometimes all you can do is laugh and take on a challenge with a smile!When making a music video, the first step for us is to record the piece in a professional recording studio, so that we can be sure we are getting the best possible sound. So many of our videos take place in unpredictable environments (outdoors, heavy traffic areas, etc.) and the last thing we want is the music to be drowned out by extra noise!Next is the fun part! We take our recorded tracks and play them back through a set of bluetooth headphones, so that we know our exact timings while being filmed. At this point, the sound we are producing while on camera doesn't matter at all since it will be over-dubbed with our professionally recorded track. Because of this, we often use different instruments (like in our outdoor videos) so that we don't risk harming our classical instruments, but the resulting sound is so terrible sometimes we can't help but break down laughing! In addition, if you have ever tried playing with headphones in your ears you'll be amazed how difficult it is to play in tune with a good sound. We try our hardest to match our recorded performance so that the video stays true to our performance, but sometimes the timings are very tricky and we focus more on the track than our own sounds, resulting in some pretty hilarious footage.
