This is called hydroponics. Look, it's alive and well. The aquarium is 4 months old. Bonsai really thrives where they get more light. The little razboras also love this natural aquarium. I replaced the lighting with a 20 watt led. This makes it a real low tech aquarium. Minimal light, minimal maintenance. I only change the water once a week. So in the summer I struggle with Cyano bacteria unfortunately. If you have a good tip for this, please let me know.

#aquascape #thecinescaper #nanotank #plantedtank #aquarium #aquascaping #bonsaiI built an easy and minimalistic tank for my Tiger barb crewTheCineScaper2022-08-05 | I made the simplest aquarium of my life. As you know, I build aquariums filled with plants. I got some wabi balls from Studio Aquatica. For a long time I didn't know what to do with them, but a few days ago an idea came to my mind. Hence this very simple no-feeding aquarium was born. I only used 1 species of Anubias plant. There is a team of 15 Tiger barbs in this aquarium. They are very agile and happy fish, but they should not be kept together with other fish species because they can hurt them. For the time being they fit comfortably in this 64 litre tank, but I will have to move them to a bigger one later as they will outgrow the current one. The aquarium is a custom made 60x30x36 cm Opti White aquarium. Lighting is provided by my favourite ONF Flat One+ lamp. It is nice, smart and has a beautiful light. It's set at 40% power. Filtering is done by a Fluval 207 filter. How do you like this simple aquarium? Yes, I know. There is sponsored content in this video. As you noticed, I always try to show cool stuff. I turn down a lot more sponsorships than I take. I show what I really like. This is necessary to make the channel work. Thank you for understanding.

I love the feel of it, it's a real vibrant little underwater paradise. No filtration, I just put in a little pump to move the water around so there are no parts where the water is still. I planted lots of plants, they do the filtration. A few shrimp, snails and 6 rasboras inhabit it. I know, I know. It's small and it's a sphere, but they needed a good temporary home. This is the concept: few plants, space and much light underwater, lots of plants and light above the water. This way the betta's habitat will be sufficiently shaded, and the large amount of plants on top of the aquarium will filter the water. This is a bit different from what we've done before, but I hope you like it.

I started a huge project. I didn't plan it, instead I bought a huge aquarium out of the blue. To be honest, the price was too good to pass. As it is designed to be fit in a corner, it doesn't take up a lot of space in my studio, that is a huge advantage for me. I've never had such a huge aquarium before, so I'm a little nervous but I'm happy to finally be able to keep a lot of fish and lots of plants together in one tank. I'm planning to make this a multi-part series, so I'll show you how to build an aquarium.

I’ve been thinking for a while to build an indoor pond. One day I was at the hardware store, when I stumbled upon an amazing pot that looked like it was made of concrete. I knew, it was a sign to do the pond. I built a relatively simple low-tech pond. Come with me, I will show you how it's done. All plants and hardscape elements were already placed in different tanks before, so one week was enough to run the pond before moving the fish to their new home.

Some time ago I got this jar as a present and I decided to build a small terrarium inside of it. I put this project aside for a while but recently I got inspired again. I still had some iron wood form a previous project that is not ideal to place in an aquarium. But their time has finally come! I built a unique stand for the jar from these parts and it turned out awesome. The whole terrarium is an easy build. I only used left-over plants and a bit of soil, that's it. You can place the jar to direct sunlight, but be sure not to burn the plants. Of course you can use some lights as well. Every couple of days give it some air and moist the soil. It's really fun to have this jar on your desk, it's a tiny-world condensed in a small bottle. Hope you will like it as well!

#aquascape #aquarium #thecinescaperBuilding THE WORLDS SMALLEST paludariumTheCineScaper2021-09-24 | I just love nano tanks and this one is even smaller than a nano, actually it's a miniature world. It's really cool that it barely takes up space, although it is a real challenge to build in such a small aquarium / paludarium. Time will tell if it works on the long run, but I really like the end result. The best thing is that the tank is almost finished - straight out from the box - you only have to assemble a few parts and it's done. It takes up a small space and requires only a few hardscape elements. Awesome! I also highly recommend it as a gift.

Finally it's… done. It was my longest and most complicated project ever. It started 2 years ago, when i had a custom, 50x50x50 tank made for myself. I wanted to create something exciting (as always), and the idea of the Mayan temple was born. My friend Adrián - Carver Mind - created this beautiful concrete temple for me. He also carved the stand for the tank, and composed the music for this video. He's one of the most talented people I’ve ever known. In the meantime, many things happened - moving, new studio - and I didn't find proper light for the tank. So a year passed quickly. After that I thought everything was on the right track. The Tropica sponsored this tank and sent a lot of plants, thanks for that once more! After I started the tank, I started to struggle with the usual algae problems. I solved it, but I still didn't like the overall result, so I didn't want to show you the aquarium yet. This video is the end result. Finally it turned out just as I imagined: mystical & captivating atmosphere. P.S. Sorry guys, I didn't record the building process because I was suddenly inspired to build the aquarium and my camera wasn't there. The tank building wasn't complicated, so you didn't miss anything.

In the last 3 years my Lost World tank didn't change so much, so I was thinking maybe I should redesign it a bit. I hid the statue even more and added some new interesting parts to the tank. Stones, roots, even a mini waterfall. The sound of the waterfall is as relaxing as it could be and many plants and roots create a jungle(ish) atmosphere. It truly looks like a lost world. It's almost boring, as I have no remaining tasks with this tank :) I hope you like it! Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Special thanks to Tropica and ONF to support THE LOG tank with their products! Tropica provided the healthy plants and the soil. I got the 2 piece of ONF FLAT ONE+ from ONF.
About the project: Unfortunately there are a couple of problems - that I was hoping to get away with. The flow is not even everywhere, there are some parts in the tank where the water is too still. Thank god, algae barely shows. I hope you liked this video and remember, if you find a nice piece of wood that gets you inspired, don't hesitate! Start building something beautiful. Pro tip!TheCineScaper2020-07-25 | Not all of my lights are smart lights, so I still use mechanical timers in some aquariums. I hate them, they are so outdated, hard to set and after a while they are too loud and they break down in about 1 year. I tried a lot of timers, but now I have found a digital alternative. Actually it costs 4 or 5 times more, but it can make your life more easier. With this device, you can control and schedule a normal (not smart) light via wifi so this plug makes the light smart. It is possible to control the CO2 valve, actually you can control everything with this smart plug. This video is not sponsored, I think it is a good device with great app and it helped me a lot so I would gladly recommend it.
This video shows a long struggle lasting for months with failures and nerve-racking turns but it turned out to be a happy end. I failed against UG, but I don't give up, we will meet each other soon. My plan B succeeded, a nice green, minimal aquarium with the Easter Island Moai Heads. It looks amazing. I could honestly say that in the end all the fight was worth it.

As my new shallow aquarium was READY, I needed a stand for it ASAP. I didn’t want to spend much on the stand, and I love DIY stuffs, so I made a minimalist concrete stand for the shallow tank. I’m not a professional, so I hope I didn’t make any mistakes in the process, and the aquarium will stay in one piece. Not much things were needed: 8 concrate blocks, a few beams, some boards and of course plenty of screws and patience. Fortunatelly I have lots of tools, so it only took a couple of afternoons to finish the stand. This is not a tutorial, I just wanted to show you how I made it. I hope I can inspire you and give you some ideas with this unusual video. Have fun.
Ooooh.. I forgot to mention it cost around $120. __________
Many of you have asked what type of CO2 system do I use for nano aquariums, so in this video I’ll show you the installation of my favourite CO2 set. My brand new Easy Scape Guide Ebook is available for FREE! thecinescaper.com/easy-scape-guide/?utm_campaign=Easy_Scape_Guide&utm_source=Youtube_channel&utm_medium=all_about_my_fav_nano_co2&utm_content=description __________ For nano tanks the Sodastream cylinder system is more suitable than a 5kg CO2 system. The Sodastream is cheap and ideal for these type of aquariums. Obviously on the long run, the 5 kg (or bigger) CO2 system is best worth it. I suggest you choose an adapter that also includes a valve, it will save you from going crazy. Be careful, a bad gasket can empty a 400gr cylinder very quickly. Keep an eye on it!
You can find a pressure regulator for $10 but I don’t recommend it. Sometimes they are small and attractive, but most of the cases it’s impossible to adjust the amount of gas. Either the gas doesn’t flow or it flows too fast. I recommend a more expensive regulator, even with one, that has 2 stages, so you can adjust the amount of gas more easily.
I prefer the drop checker instead of using a bubble counter. At first, I cautiously open the gas valve a bit and keep watching. Few hours later if the liquid in the drop checker is green, everything is alright. The blue color means the amount of gas is not enough, the yellow means it is too much. Setting up is quite a time-consuming job, but it’s worth. In this video I try to share as much useful information as possible.
Long story short, if you choose the Sodastream cylinder, you will make a good deal. I think this bottle is enough even for a 60 litre aquarium, and there is no need to change the bottle frequently. It’s enough for months in a nano tank, of course not on full speed. It also have an additional advantage, that the cylinder can be changed almost everywhere. Pretty good set, I LOVE IT!

Lately I did not have enough time for my favorite aquarium. I didn’t do anything with it in the last 2 months, only changing the water and using fertilizer. The result is visible, the tank is in horrible condition, the plants are overgrown and algea is everywhere.
Finally I tidied it up, started using a CO2 set, and the tank got some new plants as well. Due to the CO2 set, the tank has become beautiful with full of saturated colors. I always use RO water for the water change, and I spice it back to GH6. Sometimes I measure TDS, I try to keep the value between 120 and 150.
I use my own made fertilizer once a week. The CO2 is working 7/24 at a low level. I recommend to use drop checker, in order to set the CO2 level well. The green colors is the optimal.
The ONF Flat Nano + is working 7 hours a day at the highest level. E27 18W led illuminates the bonsai at the top of the tank, 10 hours a day.
I cleaned the roots of the ficus ginseng and planted it carefully on the top of the filter tube. Make sure the trunk is not under water. It is relatively easy to maintain this aquarium, but it doesn’t mean you can skip the maintenance entirely. With a little care and CO2, it will become an amazing underwater garden. __________ Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel for aquascaping inspiration!

This Miracle is one of my Followers' Aquarium. This is his FIRST TANK. A year ago this guy found my Youtube channel. He really liked what he saw on my channel and started to build his own nature aquariums. It is not algaefree and it is not perfect. However he does not want to make competiton tanks, his aquariums are only for relaxation.
Finally it turned out we live in the same city. So I figured out I will show his tank.

I haven’t planned to keep a crab just saw him in a shop and felt bad for him. He was kept in a really bad place so I took him with me. Since he is an escape artist make sure to keep him inside the tank. It’s better to keep him within high “walls” or at least have a lid on it. It looks like I managed to make it work, since he never escaped (yet). But anyway why would he do that when he has a great place to live.
He needs water but he spends most of his time on the ground. It important to create places where he can hide what makes him feel safe. To get know his demand check out a specific page where it’s described properly. But here is a tip for you, Mr. Crab likes the dog food. __________

Check out how we did a complete makeover on this poor, neglected aquarium. This tank now belongs to one of my best friend and I wanted to help him to create a planted aquarium that is easy to maintain but still have stunning looks. There's no CO2, the tank has a capacity of 63 gals and we put some vine-stock for creating a hideout for the new residents: five-banded barb, neon tetra and green tiger barb.

I’ve decided to start a new DIY short video series where I show you my actual ideas. I don’t plan long videos just to inspire you in a few minutes with showing my creations. I know it’s not attached closely to aquascaping but no worries it will have the connection. For me the aquarium is an ornament of the house so I want to use the same materials for these new creations like I use for the aquarium interiors. I hope you guys like the idea and also hope I can bring you a lot of inspirational stuff.

3 months have left since the starting of the aquarium. It’s lovely, east and aesthetic. I normally change 20-30% water once in a week or once in two weeks with mixture of tap and RO water. I use 1,5 ml of green tropica fertilizer weekly. The betta is growing nice and steady and became such a beauty. This isn’t really a lot of things to do with this tank since it has slow growing plants in it. I took the moss from the garden and unknown (at least for me) species grown out of it. It just looks awesome. The corner of the moss is in the water so it doesn’t dry out.
This is my cinematic video about a simple and clean nano aquarium. The hardscape was made from RedMoor tree and fuji stone, which I glued with silicone. I fixed the moss with superglue on the tree.
This is one of my very first videos. Unfortunately YouTube blocked the music (even it was from right source) so I uploaded it again with a new music and some additional info. This tanks is still working, though without any CO2 injection.
This great ONF Flat Nano lamp lights the tank 7 hours a day, and I use buy: goo.gl/zwu6LN Tropica Specialised fertiliser. I experiment with this Ista filter, if it’s not so efficient I change it to EHEIM classic 150.

Since I’ve had betta babies recently I needed an incubation tank where they can grow. Let me show you how I built this little aesthetic betta shelter. I wouldn’t say it’s cheap but really easy to build and maintain. If you wanna have just one tank, it’s worth it to spend the money to have a beautiful and simple to keep tank. The ONF lamp is a big fav of mine, since it has beautiful light and smart functions. Not the mention the beauty of the lamp itself. The slow growing small plants make the aquarium really simple. I’ll get back to you with the update vid soon.
As you know I have moved recently, so that’s why I haven’t posted regularly nowadays. But the good news is, I am about to start a whole new project that can change a lot of things.
There is a quite old (built in the 50s) building in our garden that I would like to use as TheCineScaper studio. Lot of you asked why to repair an old building like that, but I believe this is the right choice, considering sustainability and environmental effects.
This project takes bigger efforts than a hobby can require, so I would like to ask your help to be able to complete it as soon as possible. The result would be a dedicated space where I am able to produce more frequent quality content.
So if you would like to watch more and more videos, please join and contribute with the amount you choose. Don’t forget, the smallest help can lead to great results.

Do you remember this aquarium? I was fighting a lot with algae, but managed to defeat. I haven’t really liked it so I wanted to take apart. Recently I neglected it, didn’t trim just refilled the water and fertilized when it came to my mind. One day I had a look on it and what I saw was a wonder. The plants went crazy and it looks like a wild jungle now. Now I actually like it. I won’t break it down just enjoy it for a while. The fish love it with the zigzaggy jungle layout where they can hide. The demand of maintenance is really minimal, I refill it with mix of RO and tap water and fertilizer once a week with my own fertilizer, also I spray the plants that grown over the water. The shallow tank can be really tricky but if you would like to have an under and over water world like this than it’s your choice, just use proper plants that will find their way out of the water. Nature is a miracle.
