I thought it just was a tire at first, but when I passed it I saw it was the whole wheel, and the truck that lost it was pulled off to the side. Another car was also pulled over, and might have hit it when it came off.I was more or less clear to pass it on the right, but the car on the left in front of slowed down a *lot* once they go into the shoulder, so I had to slow down more than I wanted to to avoid getting alongside them. Then a pickup passed me on the right, closer than was comfortable.One of my co-workers almost saw it happen, he was about thirty seconds in front of me. He said he saw the tire bouncing down the road ahead of him and everybody trying to avoid it.I missed it by less than a minute, the guy was just getting out of his truck to go get it out of the road.Always pay attention to what's happening in front of you! Thankfully I had plenty of time to slow down because I saw everyone slowing down from a ways off.

He then proceeds to try to drive up my tailpipe for a mile or so (objects in camera are closer than they appear). You can see him trying to find his spot and time his exit toward the end before he makes his daring escape. Despite obviously having plenty of places to move over before that, like a normal person.I see this crap all the time. You have to know your exit is coming up, right?
