It's a short video essay on the 2009 anime RideBack. This is very different from all of the content I've uploaded to my channel in the past.I threw this together at the last minute. I think there's a lot more to be said about RideBack and its framing of political movements in Japans past and future, but I had limited time. This is a small video focusing on Rin Ogata's transformation into a political actor and how she is framed as a role model for Japanese youth and women. Apologies for any editing snafus, I did all the editing in a few hours and there were a number of things I would have liked to have polished more.
