Ron Keel Band is putting an exclamation point on a remarkably successful summer by releasing the new single and video “Don’t Misunderstand Me” featuring Jasmine Cain. The track has become a fan favorite since the release of RKB’s “South X South Dakota” album several months ago, and the video for this hot duet was shot live during a run of five headline shows at the 80th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Keel and Cain developed a friendship while performing together at major biker rallies across the country, and for a heavy southern rock duet Keel acknowledges that Cain, a South Dakota native now residing in Nashville, was his first and only choice. “Jasmine’s voice bleeds passion and fire on this cut, and we have a mutual admiration and respect for each other that really shines through in the new music video,” Ron claims.
Calling South Dakota home base now apparently paid off for Ron Keel, as that region was never completely locked down by Covid-19 restrictions. Ron Keel Band began their “Unlocked & Loaded” tour at the Sioux Empire Fair (an event which also featured Hairball, .38 Special and Big $ Rich). They followed that with the shows in Sturgis, then a headline performance at Jam Against Hunger which raised over 28 tons of food for “Feeding South Dakota.”
Then, in an effort to reach out and rock fans worldwide who were unable to attend shows, Ron Keel Band worked with online host Bravewords.com and producers at Outsound Productions to broadcast a full-production live streaming concert that racked up over 12,000 views. And now, the new official music video for “Don’t Misunderstand Me” will give those same fans a front row view of the Sturgis Rally performances.
