This has turned into a bit of a saga... the perils of the 6006! I have actually got one that works now, so join me to see how I get on with it!

Ok so the Rolleiflex 6006. I had one earlier this year and it took me six months going through all the possible problems I could think of, trying to solve them one by one, until eventually it became clear that whatever was wrong with was beyond me to diagnose or fix. And that means electronics. They're my weak link, my achilles heel. I don't know enough about electronics, even these primitive (by today's standards) electronics from the 80's.
Fortunately, my saviour came in the form of the wonderful Clay Coalfield out in Toronto. He's a former camera tech and all around nice guy and he made me a deal - he would take my bust 6006 and sell me a fully working 6006 for a bit less than half price, and then he would attempt to fix it and sell it and hopefully end up making a bit of money overall.
Anyway, here I have a fully functional 6006. Successor to the Rolleiflex SLX, which you guys know is a personal favourite of mine, predecessor to the 6002 and 6008. It adds interchangeable backs over the SLX, and the 6008 took Rollei into the digital age.
It's shoots 12 frames of 6x6 on 120 film, similar to many cameras out there, and the Carl Zeiss lenses, which are common to the whole 6000 series, are well respected.
Lots to like, for sure, but does it stay in the collection? Or is this one designated for ebay??
