Description
This video is my flatpicked, melody-in-the-bass arrangement of the classic Irish folk song “Roddy McCorley”. His hanging occurred in 1800, and the song was written circa 1898 by Ethna Carbery. She may have used an already existing tune, but if so, its origins are unknown. The song has been recorded by several prominent folk acts, most notably in the U.S. by the Kingston Trio in 1962.
