"Who You Are Is Not Important" (Track 7) from the album, 'The Body Electric: Volume 2," 1970.
For fans of The San Sebastian Strings' 'Sea' albums, 'The Body Electric: Volumes 1 and 2' are for you. The original narrator of "The Sea" trilogy, Jesse Pearson, recites the poetry of Walt Whitman, backed by the music of Rod McKuen. I consider this to be some of Rod's most beautiful orchestral pieces.
This album is extremely rare, and even used copies are very expensive on Ebay and Amazon, so I'm making it available here for your listening pleasure!
I got this from a historical website of all places. As far as I know, there is no other mp3 version of it online, as is the case with most of Rod McKuen's music.
