Hi-Intensity Shock Troop Gauntlet, Damnation gameplay on Archivum Sycorax, using the Standard-Issue Munitorum Sapper Shovel and M35 Magnacore Mk II Plasma Gun.
I had mixed feelings on the Shovel when I had my first look with the weapon. My initial feeling was that its damage wasn't very high and so you couldn't kill fast enough or survive very well with it. Having changed my tactics and the way I use the weapon, courtesy of the commenters, I am now a world more effective with it. I've used it as my main melee weapon for most of the week since my initial video, as can be seen in some of my recent videos.
The light attacks do begin to pack a decent punch once the Decimator stacks pile in and the heavy attack is still satisfying to use due to the sound effects, but also as a way to interrupt the enemies flow in the fight.
Having now completed this run with the weapon I can truly say that once you get a hang of how it handles and have the Decimator Blessing, you can reliably take this weapon into the highest difficulty.
