Released in August, '65, 'Help!' was the second 'part-soundtrack' the Beatles had recorded and released in just over 12 months. Continuing to expand their palette of sounds, and to sharpen and enhance their musical arrangements, the band delivered a deceptively upbeat album that belied the increasingly downbeat and introspective content of their lyrics. It also included two particularly monumental songs in 'Ticket to Ride' and 'Yesterday'.

In this video I delve into the history of this timeless pop classic, and here we already half-way into sixties. 'Rubber Soul' coming next!
