Every character has a back story, sometimes that back story is not known until very late into the plot, and usually that's how a character is shown to develop. But what if that back story is known? There's a whole new world available to see a character's development, which is why I chose to introduce Yuna through departure. Every arrival comes after a former departure, and I wanted to tackle this option from a different angle than what can be assumed on initial thought.There are always at least two perspectives to every thought or idea, and I wanted to mirror my choice through my videos narrative/perspective. The text on the screen is from Clouds' point of view, yet we can still hear Yuna's thoughts from her perspective too.I had fun making this, even though I had to rush the masking towards the end and it looks a little average. Originally I was going to use Fang, but alas, I haven't finished the game yet and I don't have any of my ff13 clips on my laptop at my uni flat (or enough space on my HD) so I decided to play it safer, with more of a creative curve than the expected. Let's hope that it is enough!I must be crazy for challenging myself so, when I'm very busy with university, but giving myself 5 days to complete a small project (about the size of a mep part) -- I thought, "If I can find time for an audition then I can find time for the meps!" and I must say, this is the quickest I have ever... /ever/ edited! (But with my new job it is really hard to get time to edit these days T^T)Only 1 problem... I've just reformatted my laptop and had to downgrade Vegas. No matter how hard I tried, my masking projects would not open in a lower version of vegas, and the ones that did - crashed. Eventually I gave in...Until I rummaged my pre-rendered folder on my external. Preview quality sucks along with old project crappy elements such as text and the backgrounds.If I had the time to re-mask all of these scenes in less than 1 day, I would. I really would. Because I know that at some point I will anyways, have to remask everything since I've lost my masking projects. I'm quite sad and frusterated that I did something so silly, but I hope you enjoy the last video of 2010 from me :)I don't expect to win this category in the GMV awards, but I wanted to give it a go without thinking "What if?", you know? When Jillian approached me to make this video for her, I couldn't say no. Voices of the Lifestream was an amazing project, and to be asked to make the official video to Jillian's (Pixietricks) OC Remix was overwhelming. So overwhelming that I took to After Effects and nearly died - because this is the first time I've really used After Effects. Admittedly, I did whimp out and turn to Particle Illusion for the first time too, which sped up the project a lot. I don't think I would have managed trying to make 'techie effects' on AE the whole time. I admit that I could have done more with effects and missed some timing oppotunities, but really, after 3 months of struggles, not only with editing block and "program n00b syndrome" but with reality as well, I wanted to get this baby out and free! • Story: I wanted to follow the canon of Final Fantasy VII whilst concentrating on flow and also the "WTF" moments of the story. Well, for that I apologise and present you this video. I had to vent. Something terrible has happened in my life, and I have felt that I could no longer go on. Everything was going right, and then it all had to come crashing down and take me along with it. Most of you will not know that the past year I had a lot of trouble trying to care for my mother, who was mentaly ill. We would have many arguments and although I loved her, I had turned my back in order to save my own self. After months and months of trying to get her help, it finally arrived and she was taken into hospital. After a few months she slowly was getting better and better, each time I saw her. Slowly, the bonds of Mother and Child began to grow, and she was given her own house. But they changed her medication, and she took a turn for the worse. The side effects were bitterly cruel, I had complained, I was worried. Her workers would sort it out. So I went on a little holiday to visit my boyfriend, to escape it all. When I got back, I was informed my mum was missing. I searched for her, but nobody had seen her. I called her workers. A few, perhaps many hours later I recieved a call. My mother was found dead in her house. She had gone. She was all alone. The pain it has given me, will linger for the rest of my life. I have many regrets, much stress. But for one thing, I am glad. My last words to her whenshe was living, "I love you, mum." The casue of death is still not known after a week. There is going to be an inquest, which could take 10 weeks. Please. Let her have passed on in her sleep. And that is why I present you with this. It is the only video, I have been able to work on. • Story: Aeris finds herself in the lifestream, on that cold and brutal day. There, she meets Gaia, the guardian of the stream, whom thus summons Rinoa the angel of death, to take her to her final resting place. But before Aeris can pass, she must remember how she died. Rinoa summons upon a flashback, and Aeris is given the closure she needs and is able to pass to her final resting place, guided by Rinoa. ---------------------------------- Spazzy, I would like to thank you for the inspiration for this video.
