Drawing inspiration from acclaimed titles like Fable, Crackdown, and Fallout, we'll explore the mechanics behind moral systems and their influence on player choices. You'll learn how to create a dynamic system that rewards virtuous deeds while penalizing immoral actions, giving players a sense of agency and consequence.
Using a practical example, we'll demonstrate how to apply the moral system to affect NPC interactions. By attacking NPCs and performing good or bad deeds, you'll witness how character appearances transform based on their moral alignment. Whether it's visual changes or altering dialogue options, you'll discover the power of shaping your game's world through moral choices.
Join us in this tutorial as we unveil the secrets of designing a morality system that adds depth and replayability to your game. Unlock the potential to create immersive experiences where player decisions have far-reaching consequences.

The actual reason behind it was a bug. I was playing the death animation and then enabling ragdoll in the middle of it but the ragdoll fighting against the animation glitched. I fixed it by cancelling the animation when the ragdoll started.

Did you know,
Unreal has a water plugin that's experimental but makes water super easy
and it looks fantastic!
Simply enable the plugin
Restart the editor
Make sure to add the Collision profile settings when it reboots!
Then add a landscape that covers your entire map
Then drag in one of the many water actors.
I'm going to use Water Body Ocean
Move the water into place
And once it's compiled you'll have fantastic water
Simply reposition it to get the best results
It's highly customisable!

In this video, we will take a look at Narrative. A plugin created by Reubs. I've used this plugin for months and it's fantastic. It will cost money but save you months and months of work. A framework that will make your game from theoretical to actual. This is not sponsored. I just really like the plugin!

We will be creating a very commonly requested feature by adding Profile Pictures to the dialogue system. It's super easy. We will do it in two ways; blueprint and C++.
# Duplicating Narrative UI:
1: Duplicate BP_NarrativeDefaultUI to BP_NarrativeDefaultUI_ProfilePictures
2: Duplicate BP_DialogueOption to BP_DialogueOption_ProfilePictures
3: BP_DialogueOption_ProfilePictures - Graph - Change variable "Owning Widget" to BP_NarrativeDefaultUI_ProfilePictures
4: BP_DialogueOption_ProfilePictures - Graph - Fix event "Select Reply" by reconnecting the Lock Dialogue UI
5: BP_NarrativeDefaultUI_ProfilePictures - Graph - Dialogue - change the "Create BP Dialogue Option widget" on "Event BPOn Dialogue Replies Available"
6: BP_NarrativeDefaultUI_ProfilePictures - Graph - Dialogue - "Event Handle Enter Key" - Change the cast to be "BP_DialogueOption_ProfilePictures"
7: BP_NarrativeDefaultUI_ProfilePictures - Graph - Dialogue - "Event Select Reply" - Change the cast to be "BP_DialogueOption_ProfilePictures"
# C++ Changes:
Narrative - Dialogue.h - line 45:
//Default shot to play whilst this speaker is talking
UPROPERTY(EditAnywhere, BlueprintReadOnly, Category = "Speaker Details")
UTexture2D* ProfilePicture = nullptr;
Narrative - Dialogue.h - line 7:
ProfilePicture = nullptr;

A task that might take ages or is very repetitive?
Look no further than Unreals Editor Scripting!
Editor Scripting allows you to create a blueprint or C++ file to automatically adjust actors in the game or assets in the content drawer.
This, maybe, took me an hour to create but saved me hours of conversion and future development.

We will look at creating dynamic spawning quest items so we can spawn them at any point we require.

I managed to find a pack containing the Los Santos map from San Andreas and after a whole lot of tweaking, I managed to get it imported into Unreal with the textures.
A few collision settings later, you can now run around.
I tried adding the vehicle but the Advanced Vehicle pack wasn't having it!
What should I do next?

Voices Spreadsheet:

Want some AI voices that don't suck?
There is a tool for FREE on steam called xVaSynth 2 which allows you to create and use AI voices. Its used for modding but you can also use it for planning your games.
Simply, download then browse the Google Sheet online to find the voices you want. (link in the description). There are hundreds!
Once downloaded, you can see a list of all your games and the voices.
Pick your character, hit load model, type in your text at the top then click generate voice.
You could have Skyrims male guard.
Tracer from Overwatch.
Panam from Cyberpunk.
Ezio from Assassins creed.
Or even Trevor from GTA V.
You can also create voices in bulk using a spreadsheet.
I use this tool all the time to generate voices for my games as its quick, easy and best of all free!
