According to organizer, Doug Carrick they had to move the elevator about 100 miles from its original location at Mawer, Saskatchewan. They then got the elevator functioning as like it used to, including the 10 horsepower Fairbanks Morse single piston engine that was used to drive the elevator leg. The museum and its volunteers sunk about $100k into the restoration project.
