Notes: Hurricane Marie sent strong surf into Alamitos Peninsula in Long Beach, causing flooding in homes and along E Ocean Blvd. Homeowners used sand bags to prevent flood damage, but the powerful waves were no match. In the afternoon, lifeguards rushed to retrieve wooden boards ripped apart by the waves as the debris posed a danger to nearby surfers. Parts of the boardwalk is seen littered with debris from the ocean. As the surf peaked around 6 p.m., some waves reached as high as the three storey beachfront homes .
