Anything that the two most remarkable villains in OUAT could share? Well yeah! Not that great at all, but they do share the emotion of loss of a child... unfortunately.
Both Regina and Rumple have lost their children - with Emma's appearance, who was found by Henry, it was clear Regina would lose him to her at one point and she did, in a way.
Rumple managed to lose his son three times. Once in FTL and ever since then he's been trying to find him (in most dishonourable ways, I must say as he destroyed many lives on this path and his biggest crime (apart from killings) was having made a monster of Regina). Then in our world, when Neal/Baelfire rejected him for his past actions, and finally when everybody thought Neal had died after having fallen through the portal.
The song is blocked in Germany (damn GEMA :P ) so Vimeo link is up there to be seen immediately cause I can't stand pitchshifting. Also the title was pretty crucial to pick this Deep Purple classic rock ballad and marry it with the plot.
It's easy to extract an emotion from a fandom and make a clip with it, so I've taken up a more challenging path like showing the genesis of that emotion and all the circumstances that have caused, voluntarily or involuntarily, the final outcome = the emotion itself (which is a bit more specific, btw.)
Subtitles - Each character has their own font, the most amusing one for Rumple, whose font is identical to the one on his dagger. I've subtitled only less audible or whispery voicovers for immediate understanding, (so Regina almost doesn't have subs thanks to her resonant voice) as I don't think subs are really necessary and they are so distracting unless they are used decoratively, really not a fan of subs and tend to put them as little as possible and as discreetly (in the left bottom corner to not ruin the video).
