For the third preview of THE DIGITAL ACID official podcast, we invited special guest and world’s leading 3D scanning expert Simon Che de Boer to sit down with us to discuss ‘The future of capturing memories’.
In this third clip, Simon opens up about the traumatic experience of becoming a victim of home arson and how it caused him to explore the world of Photogrammetry.
Using family photos, he took advantage of the technology in order to reconstruct his home he lost in the fire. He shows us the final result of what he was able to achieve of the house that is now just a memory.
He also discusses his frustration with Samsung and the confusion they brought to the consumer market when introducing 360 video.
Finally, Simon explains the importance of realism and how he works within the New Zealand patent system to protect his Intellectual Property.
