In a world overflowing with information, opinions, platforms, podcasts, and life hacks, Scripture reminds us that wisdom is not the same as knowledge—and it cannot be separated from a relationship with God. True wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, grows as we walk with Him over time, and becomes real in our lives through simple obedience. When we hear the words of Jesus and put them into practice, we build our lives on the rock, one faithful step at a time.
In this message, Pastor Whit explores the following Scriptures:
PROVERBS 4:7-9 ESV
7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. 8 Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her. 9 She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown.”
PROVERBS 1:7 ESV
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
PROVERBS 2:6-7 ESV
6 For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
ROMANS 1:18-22 ESV
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,[g] in the things that have been made. 15 A continual dripping on a rainy day and a quarrelsome wife are alike; 16 to restrain her is to restrain the wind or to grasp oil in one's right hand.
MATTHEW 7:24-27 ESV
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
