As we all know by now, Magical Musketeers was a bust in the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. These Quick Effect Gunslingers were overhyped by their ability to play Spell/Traps from your hand during your opponent’s turn to interrupt play. Instead, these quickdrawing LIGHT Fiends shot themselves in the foot with slow, hard once-per-turn effects that would brick their hand, had nothing to get over High Attack monsters, and had trouble finishing off games due to their low ATK stats. But what they lack, well, everything, is that they make up with incredible references to a very unique opera you might’ve never known about. So, let’s put aside the tier list for a while and explore the association of this creative archetype with this creative opera.
