I recently started playing Rayman 2 again with the goal of getting sub-2:30 100% and sub-2 any%. This video shows my current best 100% run. Because there have been some new discoveries since I set my last PR of 2:33:29 in 2015, I did a few runs to set a baseline and see how much work needs to be done to reach 2:30.
There are quite a few mistakes in this run, but nothing huge; the largest mistakes cost me about 20 seconds each. If I managed to do a run without those mistakes (or any other big mistakes) and with a little cleaner play throughout, I would probably be looking at around 2:30:30 or 2:30:45. This tells me that sub-2:30 is definitely possible, since there are sizeable timesavers that I didn't use in this run (like the Sanctuary of Water and Ice door clip, which saves about 30 seconds compared to the airswim).
I still need to spend time learning the timesavers that have been found in the past couple years. Many of them only work on PC, but I'm sure there are some that work on N64. With a few more timesavers, I'm confident that I can get sub-2:30.
