The rav drum and the sansula complement each other well in part because the fundamental tones of the rav drum are in the low to mid-range of the audible spectrum, while the sansula's fundamental tones are in the mid to high-range.

B minor is the relative minor key of d major, so on these two instruments, all of the notes are the same. The D Major hokema sansula is compatible with the following rav drums: b celtic minor, b celtic minor double ding, b kurd, b rus and d major.
Both the sansula and the rav drum have special harmonic effects, the rav drum with its harmonic points (as shown here) and the sansula with it's wah-wah effects.
