On November 6, 2013, the Forest Service issued a special waiver to allow logging of the Jazz Timber Sale in the sensitive Clackamas River Watershed. This, outside of the normal season. Normally, companies are not allowed to log Mt. Hood National Forest after October 31 because the wet weather increases soil damage from equipment.

The Forest Service has violated the trust of citizens, circumvented laws designed to protect Mt. Hood's forest heritage for future generations, and proved itself to be a "Timber" Service rather than a Forest Service.

Lisa Northrup is the new Mt. Hood Forest Supervisor. You can call her directly and leave a message at 503-668-1749.
