Thereabouts #1 thereabouts 2017-05-10 | The original Thereabouts film. The first thereabouts ride came together all at the last minute - as these things do. We had a date locked in for a few months beforehand but we hadn't properly considered exactly where we would go. All we knew was that we wanted to ride through a desert or over a mountain range. Ideas about different routes across the world had been floating around but in reality we had little money, and lacked the logistical skills to organise it. With less than a month until we were meant to leave we decided on Uluru - purely because it was an iconic location everyone knew, which made it easier to explain when people asked where we were going. Once we arrived however, it became pretty clear how special Australia is.

Thereabouts 3: Discovering Colombia thereabouts 2021-02-25 | In late 2016 we travelled down to Colombia for a two week tour around a country we knew very little about beyond the cliches often portrayed in western pop culture. We wanted to get an introduction to the people, their way of life and experience first hand the landscapes, and talent of the emerging superpower in the world of professional mens cycling. We had never met the crew hosting us in Colombia, nor been given any indication of where we'd be riding, or on what, and our understanding Spanish was non-existent. The following two weeks were an incredible cultural experience in one of the most beautiful and welcoming parts of the world we've ever visited. We were given insight into the various cultures of the vast mountainous country as well given first hand accounts of what it takes to reach the professional ranks and what it sometimes takes to stay there. We were also afforded a glimpse at the next generation of excellent Colombian road riders. (Keep your eyes peeled for EF's Sergio Higuita).As for the riding, it was equal parts brutal and beautiful.
