visionontvGeorge Marshall tells us to have that important conversation with Uncle Bob, and gives us a way of doing it that may actually change his mind....
Communications expert George Marshall offers six strategies for talking to people who don't accept that climate change is happening Drawing on his workshops in climate communications and the latest social research he proposes a respectful approach that responds to their interests and values. He says that you should keep away from an argument about the science and concentrate on the personal journey that led you to accept the problem. Try it and you'll find it works.
These recommendations are based on the current social research and four years experience of leading workshops on peer to peer communications. My colleague Dr Adam Corner has prepared a paper at www.talkingclimate.org with links to the original research.
I want to apologise for using the phrase Climate Change Denier which is tricky I know. It is, I am sure, the best title for people looking for this material and I want the video seen by as many people as possible. Half way through the video I recommend using the term Climate Dissenters as an alternative.

## Introduction - Hamish Campbell's background in grassroots and radical media - The open web's early potential for alternative media
## The Failure of Alternative Media - Rise of big tech like Facebook led to closed and monopolized systems - Encryptionist agenda went nowhere over the past decade - Climate crisis shows need for societal alternatives
## The Open Media Network - Explaining the decentralized federated network model - Trusted flows of content based on open standards
## Rebooting Indymedia - Rebuilding the local community news site with focus areas - Approaches for enabling secure anonymous publishing
## Why Indymedia Failed - Early successes but internal disputes over openness - Problems with incompatible customized systems - Control desires led to user-hostile encryption
## Lessons Learned - Open standards critical for networks - Loose flexible processes over rigid bureaucracy - Explicitly embedding the "four opens" philosophy
## Project Overview - Building a web of trusted news flows - Agnostic decentralized network via protocols like ActivityPub - Get involved to help create alternative media
"It easy to keep crossing wires with "media" vs. personal. Media _should_ be open, with clear sources, except when protecting them. Whereas personal data should default to private"

The reasons for keeping chickens are as pets, for eggs and for eating pests. Some people will sell the eggs for side income.
Keeping chickens in an urban environment is associated with the "urban agriculture", sustainability movement, which is the growing practice of cultivating, processing and distributing food in or around a village, town or city. There are a host of personal benefits associated with urban agriculture and keeping chickens in one's own backyard.

Over 2 days we shoot a 4 hours of video, this is it at x20 speed with two more cameras edited in for a finished 20 min film.
Boatingeurope crew is back to London for winter and are boat-sitting a narrow boat for the time in town. We got the boat in Hertford and this is our first journey to bring the boat to London Canals system. The journey along the River Lea, together with Crispy Nails, took us two days, 6km/h and 19 locks downriver. We got a tarpaulin stuck in the propeller and we have an encounter with a rowing boat coming round a corner. We peep the horn and shout but he does not react so we come to a complete stop. Finally noticing us he apologizes as he was not looking and we all go on our way no harm done.
Thanks you to @crispynails for help on the final edit.
During the winter months we will be cruising London East to West. Follow us on:

The video collates actions from the beginnings of UK environmental NVDA 1991-93, along with other actions from around the world. Its extensive and humorous use of montage techniques made it inspirational to many actual campaigners as well as future ones. The video even appears in a novel.
