Fragranced with Italian Limoncello Fragrance Oil, it has a refreshing lemon scent. It behaves well in cold process with no discoloration, making it perfect for this swirly soap.
It's an advanced project, as it requires melt and pour embeds and a good understanding of cold process texture. For the embeds, we recommend using SFIC LCP Clear Melt And Pour Soap Base ("like cold process") to avoid glycerin dew.

In order to experience castile soap at its very best, it needs a long cure time. Peak lathering ability develops over a full year of cure time. Although castile soap is ready to use within 4 to 6 weeks like any cold-process soap, the lather might be a little dense and slimy for several months.

Both cold process and hot process soap making techniques start with the same foundational ingredientsโlye and oilsโyet they diverge significantly in terms of process and final product characteristics.
CP soap is known for its smooth texture and versatility in design, allowing for intricate patterns and textures. In contrast, HP soap is appreciated for its quick turnaround and rustic aesthetic but offers less flexibility in terms of design. Both methods result in a great bar of soap, and allow for plenty of customization.

This soap is an advanced project and requires a good understanding of trace. It has a 10% water discount to set up quicker, and to prevent glycerin rivers due to the large amount of titanium dioxide.
While you're scraping out soap to create the triangle shape, some can get lost. Having a few extra ounces ensures there's enough to cover the embed. You can put any leftover soap in another mold.
When dusting the layer of activated charcoal, be careful to not use too much. A layer that is too thick can cause the soap to separate. We also recommend using LCP melt and pour base for the embed to prevent glycerin dew.

This project is an advanced recipe, as it requires a good understanding of trace. The soap batter needs to be a consistency that holds its shape, but also allows for swirls. Our batter got slightly thick with this batch. It still turned out beautifully, but for the best swirly hearts we recommend pouring a little bit earlier!
To help keep trace thin, this soap is fragranced with Rosehip Jasmine Fragrance Oil. It's a Bramble Berry classic, with notes of jasmine, pink rose, and white musk.

The key to swirling melt and pour soap is temperature and patience. The temperature of melt and pour soap greatly affects the consistency, which affects the look of your swirls. The hotter the soap is, the more liquid it is, and the more it will swirl together. As the soap cools, it gets thicker, and the colors tend to stay more separate. Letโs take a look at how this impacts swirled melt and pour soap.
Melt and Pour Temperature Guide:
โข Around 140-150 degrees F: The colors swirl together a lot and the swirls become quite wispy.
โข Around 120-130 degrees F: The colors will be a little more separate and not blend together, so youโll see more defined swirls.
โข Around 110-120 degrees F: The soap colors stay almost completely separate, with little to no blending. The colors may even stay on the same sides of the mold that they were poured into.

Unfamiliar with solid cleansing balms? They act as a makeup remover - apply to dry skin and massage in thoroughly. Then, follow with a facial soap.

The lightweight oils loosen makeup, while the combination of emulsifiers ensure the balm washes away without greasy residue. We lightly scented this balm with Natural Juicy Pear Fragrance Oil, but it can be left unscented if you prefer. We also added a touch of preservative. Because this recipe does not contain any water, this is optional.
Use your fingertips to massage the balm into dry skin. Give extra attention to areas with hard to remove makeup, such as eyes and lips. Rinse away with warm water and follow with a facial soap.
Note: if you live in a hot climate, you may want to increase the amount of emulsifying wax to ensure it remains a solid texture. It is still safe and effective to use if the balm softens.

The white and orange soap are swirled together in each mold cavity. When swirling melt and pour, it's important to keep an eye on the temperature of the soap bases. If the soap is too hot, the white and orange soap will mix completely. We recommend pouring the soap into the mold when the bases are around 120-130 degrees F.

The yogurt is added at trace, right before pouring. Yogurt contains lactic acid which is great for skin. It also contains natural fats, which creates a creamier lather. We recommend keeping temperatures low for this recipe - about 80-90 degrees F for both the lye water and oil.
To help make this soap gentle for dry and sensitive skin, this recipes contains a high percentage of olive oil. Because of that, it may need more time in the mold to harden. We highly recommend sodium lactate for this recipe to help it release from the mold. You may also notice it has a small, dense, creamy lather.
