Babsi Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher returned to the Karakoram to attempt "Eternal Flame" (7c+) in the Trango Towers, first freed by the Huber Brothers in 2009. An immense and remote granite spire in Pakistan, "Eternal Flame" is a test piece for big-wall climbing at the highest level. But even the best climbers struggle with the basics sometimes - like poorly-placed protection and massive rope drag. Catch the full film, Burning the Flame, now streaming on Reel Rock Unlimited. #shorts
Didier Berthod was one of the world’s best crack climbers in the early 2000s, with first ascents of iconic lines like Greenspit, Learning to Fly, and From Switzerland with Love. His legendary battle with the Cobra Crack project, in Squamish, was featured in our 2006 film First Ascent. He walked away empty handed, local crusher Sonnie Trotter snagged the FA, and Didier disappeared from the climbing scene, joining a monastery in Switzerland and living as a monk for the next decade.
But he’s back! At 41 years old, Didier returned to Squamish and made the first ascent of a spectacular finger crack near the top of The Chief. He calls it the hardest and most beautiful crack he’s ever done - The Crack of Destiny, mid-5.14. Soon after that he jumped back on Cobra Crack to settle the score, but took a nasty fall and broke his wrist. Heal up quick Didier! The saga continues…

Chris Sharma's new route Sleeping Lion is a beast! This is just one of several gnarly crux sequences in a row that add up to a grade of 5.15c (9b+). Not bad for a 41 year old dad! Full story coming soon to Reel Rock Unlimited.
Beth Rodden made the first ascent of Meltdown (5.14c) in 2008, making it one of the world’s hardest cracks (and perhaps the hardest first ascent by a woman at that time). It took TEN YEARS before anyone was able to repeat it - and it’s still only been climbed three times. Talk about ahead of your time! Featured in our film Meltdown, part of Dosage Vol 5.
Twenty hours into “Honnold’s Ultimate RedRocks Traverse,” free soloing the hardest route of the entire 150 pitch marathon in the middle of the night, Alex Honnold crossed a threshold. Feeling like a big floppy noodle - definitely not ideal. From our film The HURT, part of ReelRock17. Now streaming on Reel Rock Unlimited.

Seb Bouin deep in the process on his route DNA (5.15d / 9c), a contender for hardest sport climb in the world. From our film DNA, part of ReelRock17, now streaming on Reel Rock Unlimited. #shorts
Last October, Honnold set out to climb the entire skyline of his backyard stomping grounds, the Red Rock range in Las Vegas, NV, calling the challenge "Honnold's Ultimate Red Rock Traverse" (The HURT). In 32 hours of nonstop running, scrambling, and soloing, he covered 35 miles of rugged desert terrain, with over 150 pitches of free solo climbing - both up and down - and logged 25,000+ vertical feet of elevation gain.

"Flashing" a climb means doing it bottom to top, with no falls, on your first try. Adam Ondra, the best sport climber in the world, set himself an impossible-seeming goal of becoming the first person to flash a route rated 9a+ (5.15a). There were only a few climbs of the grade on the planet that he hadn't yet done or tried. He strategized for years, failed on several of them, and then in 2018 he finally succeeded, sending Alex Megos' route Supercrackinette, in St Leger, France. Luckily our team was there to capture this rare moment.
The full documentary, "Age of Ondra," about Adam's climbing career and his epic mission to flash 9a+, is featured in Reel Rock 13. Check it out here: reelrocktour.com/collections/films/products/reel-rock-13

Nineteen year old Margo Hayes became the first woman in the world to climb a confirmed 5.15a (9a+) when she did La Rambla, in Siurana, Spain, in 2017. A few months later, she did her second 5.15, sending Chris Sharma's legendary route Biographie (AKA Realization). Both ascents were featured in the film "Break on Through," part of Reel Rock 12 (Available here: reelrocktour.com/collections/films/products/reel-rock-12).
This is an extended and remastered cut of Margo's historic ascent of Biographie, showcasing her incredible grace, determination, and mastery of climbing movement. SUBSCRIBE for more in the "Iconic Climbs" series, coming soon!

VALLEY UPRISING (Feature Documentary)

One of the most beautiful and outrageous rock climbs ever filmed. Chris Sharma envisioned a line up the underside of this free-standing limestone arch off the coast of Mallorca. Climbing ropeless above the Mediterranean Sea, Sharma spent months attempting the seven foot dyno, splashing down at least 50 times before finally sticking it, then falling many more times at the even harder lip of the arch. He finally made the first ascent of this masterpiece in September, 2006. This is a remastered cut of the send, adapted from the original sequence in our feature documentary King Lines, available here: reelrocktour.com/collections/films/products/king-lines.
Es Pontás (The Bridge) is unrated, but considered one of the hardest climbs in the world. It was unrepeated for a decade, and even today has only been done by two other climbers.
This piece is dedicated to the late Miquel Riera, the godfather of Mallorcan Psicobloc (deep water soloing) who introduced us all to the fantastic sea cliffs here, loved sharing the beauty of his island, and even pointed Chris to Es Pontas, the ultimate "King Line."
