Entwining multi-cultural styles and influences, Cavestar respectfully borrows and weaves a dense fabric of mysterious dreams and distant half-forgotten memories of Kingston, Rio, Havana and Dakar, behind world rhythms and quasi-urban beats. Turning to the vast online resource of pre-recorded music and vocal libraries, the public domain, and non-professional social media performances, Cavestar’s collaborators are a million human spirits that inadvertently became part of these tracks. Much gratitude to all those involved! Compositions are constructed by curation, layering and taste matching until structure emerges—a mixture of 70s AM radio pop, world fusion, trip hop, DnB, dub, new wave, ambient, jazz and funk.
