We are in Japan // State of the Bliss // Ep. 17 chase bliss 2023-06-08 | It's hard to know exactly what to say about this one. We visited Japan in October 2022 with Empress and Old Blood to speak at the Tokyo Pedal Summit and visit our one big exception – Umbrella Company. Japan is the only country where we don't sell direct and it's all because of Umbrella. This piece in particular is like a weird diary of us (and me) navigating an especially weird time in the company. It's so weird looking back on it. Direct-to-consumer was fresh and it involved *a lot* of change to the company, far more than I expected. I was worrying all the time. This trip was the moment everything started to turn around in my head. We got to share the MOOD MKII prototype with Old Blood for the first time and be in this new place with all of these people I really trust and I noticed by the end I just wasn't worrying anymore. It was extremely meaningful and it's hard to capture that in a video but it really feels good being able to share this one with you all.

Habit is probably the most expansion-friendly pedal we've ever made. It has *so much* inside of it and with a few extra controls you can unlock some really interesting performance possibilities. So leave it to Paul Uhl to build a thing that does just that. The MIDIgatr is an expander that lets you bypass the incoming MIDI signal, send an expression signal, and control the volume going into and out of Habit. The MIDIgatr is actually a collection of simple, commonplace music tools:- Volume pedal (or fader) - Switch (e.g. kill switch)- Tap tempo switchThat's it!You can wire up your own, or just try the parts you find interesting.
