400mm War Plane Prop Saver Replacement for R/C Volantex/SonikRC.Eachine Calvertfilm 2024-08-06 | I did make a previous video replacing the prop saver but perhaps this method is more gentle. I have found that I can use the pointy pliers to push against the motor shaft and the prop saver so as to slide it up, then I can use my fingers to pull it off fully. Important: The motor shaft has a flat side that needs to line up with an internal flat side of the prop saver, then it goes on fully leaving 1-2 mm of motor shaft protruding. Usually the prop saver can be pushed on by hand but sometimes the pointy pliers can help but make sure you don't slip. Newer models have access hatches to the motor if you need that to help support the motor whilst you as pushing and pulling but you may not need access anyway. Older models might not have a hatch (older Mustang, Trojan, Corsair for example). In the field you can use a contact adhesive such as UHU to hold the prop if you don't have a spare prop saver there but change it a.s.a.p. Music by YouTube. Internet search 'Calvertfilm'.
Scalextric Lotus79, BrabhamBT46B, Swedish GP 1978 set Calvertfilm 2024-08-04 | Scalextric electric slot car racing set, the 1978 Swedish GP, featuring the Lotus 79 of Mario Andretti, and the Brabham BT46B fan car of Nikki Lauda. The fan car won that particular race although the Lotus led for a while but the fan car pace was awesome due to the fan pulling the car to the ground. After the race it was immediately outlawed and the team pulled the car from future competition but the result of this GP - a win, stood. The whole season was won by the dominant Lotus 79 and Mario Andretti. The fan device was primarily for cooling the engine but it did suck air from under the car creating a low pressure vacuum that pulled the car down. All car would have had this device had it been allowed to continue. The true pace of the car was hidden during qualifying but in the race it had a big advantage, unfair in my mind as not in the spirit of the rules. Whereas the ground effect of the Lotus 79 was, and a superb innovation. This was my first year getting into F1 and I was pleased Mario and the 79 won. The season highlight were shown on BBC TV in the UK, with fantastic title music (The Chain). Really got me into it. Since not being free to view anymore I just watch a few mins of highlights online now. I don't agree with paying for it plus it isn't the same for me. Senna and Mansell days were the greatest. R/C Spitfire (8) Maiden, Spit (7) Kissing the Sun, AeroScout in the Mist Calvertfilm 2024-08-02 | Got an early flight at Pakefield with Spitfire 8 so I was on my own. Then flew Spitfire 7 quite a lot. Returned later and flew Spitfire 7 again and my AeroScout in the mist. Very windy by then funnily enough (even with mist). These two Version 2 Spitfires fly great. Look great too, and I did my usual low and close flying. I did some stunts higher up as I didn't want to hit the ground first flight. Trying to fly Spit 7 into the sun to get some great shots. Also flew the AeroScout into the sea mist and nearly lost it but thanks to the gyro I didn't panic and it flew around to me again. Gyro does help. Also did some super close landings. R/C Plane Spitfire (8) KLB V2 Compare with other 400mm Spits Calvertfilm 2024-08-01 | Eachine have made a V2 (version 2) of the KLB Spitfire in 400mm radio control. V2 models sports a clear canopy with a 2D pilot inside. I have exchanged mine for a 3D print I got from eBay. I paint him up extremely detailed under a magnifier. I also add a photo print of a Spitfire Cockpit. That does nicely for me. Adds less than a gram. Weight wise I found the V1 KLB weighs 48g, with the V2 weighing in just 4g heavier which makes no appreciable difference. The JEJ V2 weighs 49g for me. All with the three bladed prop. The V2s have clear canopies but also some telemetry now. You get beeps if the battery is low or they are out of range (read the leaflet for details). After a minute of non-use it will beep too and you will need to re-arm using the throttle. My first Spitfire had the paint chip off easily. These newer models have stronger paint. KLB was flown by New Zealand pilot Alan Deere based at RAF Hornchurch (where I used to live, so is special to me). RAF Hx is a country park these days with the Spitfire pens as the car park. Other artifacts such as Pill Boxes and Tett Turrets can be found. He flew a Mk1 as represented here in 1940 during the Battle of Britain, and the aircraft still flies today. It was also made as a 1/24th Airfix model. This model is called the 'green' version if you order online from places such as Banggood (the only place I could find this V2 KLB in the UK at present). JEJ was flown by Johnny Johnson. He got to put his initials on the plane when he reached Wing Commander level on his Mk9 Spitfire which sported cannons. R/C Planes Mustang, Spitfire, Bf109, 400mm plus AeroScout 1.1 - Stunts Calvertfilm 2024-07-29 | Mustang 5 is my V2 clear canopy Red Tail in 400mm. Great fun. Flying in Midd mode allows stunts and recovery. Did some wind surfing and followed a Seagull. Flew my Spitfire over another field. Very peaceful but long grass makes props hard to find. Flew Bf109 at my flying club when nobody is there, so that allows me to fly low and close to myself, plus my AeroScout which I wanted to film from a different angle. Robot Mako Paper Version R/C Model 1/8th approx Calvertfilm 2024-07-26 | Robot Wars robot Mako is a heavyweight robot new for 2024. Today I print out a paper version I have made (we may well give these out at live events in future). The idea is these can be made into static models. Or if strengthened up with card they can be stuck onto Micro R/C cars with Blu Tack or similar and then made to fight on a table, the floor, or a purpose built mini arena.I use Photoshop to stitch images together of various robots, or you could just make card models. A few years ago my sons and I made Robot Mini Wars, and put it on YouTube, just using models of our favourite robots we had made this way ourselves. R/C Plane 400mm Mustang Hovering in the Wind Calvertfilm 2024-07-21 | Windy days are not really an issue for 400mm 60g War Planes made of foam. Just practice a lot. I crashed once and it just got up and flew again. This was so much fun, and great to see the plane relatively close compared to my larger plane (at the end) that I had to fly further away of course for safety. I still managed to bend the landing gear as it was blown over on landing. Plane was doing about 40mph or more with the strong wind but turning around at half throttle I could enjoy a slow fly past. Dom,s large radio control Tiger Moth Calvertfilm 2024-07-21 | One of the guys asked me to film his Tiger moth in the club. I tried following it in my AeroScout and got some images. I feel drones are better at this sort of thing but I don't have one. Also tried putting my Ordro EP7 headcam on the fuselage but the vibration made the shot shaky, unlike on the AeroScout. Rest was shot with a Sony Handycam with stabilisation, even so I had to zoom in fully. I hope Dom is pleased with the results. With a cloudy blustery day I think we did ok. R/C Mustang (5) Maiden and crash into football net/break prop, then fly again.... Calvertfilm 2024-07-15 | How can flying into a soft football net break a prop? Well this is how you do it lol. 1st flight for my 5th Mustang. At evening time when the field was very quiet. First time I've hit one of these four goals. At least someone scored! And this has caused the white plastic gear to grind per rotation. Still flies fine though, just makes a different noise. Also got a long flight in the next day (Mon 15th) doing some low level rolls and loops, other stunts, and fly pasts. Sun out, nice clouds. Nothing broke after 15 mins of flying. Didn't crash but got really close to the ground, closer than it looks here. Caught it three times, and the last time it glided into my face as the camera shows and all was well (try catching at your own risk). R/C Plane Mustang (5) V2 with clear canopy - Volantex Calvertfilm 2024-07-11 | 400mm radio control Volantex Mustang P51-D Red Tail. This is a version 2 (V2) model, so has a clear canopy, and a blocked intake. It weighs 51 g compared to the 47g of the V1, and the 54g of the Obsession blue and yellow V2. I always found the 47g V1 flew great in expert mode, the 54g V2 not so well, so I'll be interested to try this one out. It also has a little extra red detail under the exhaust each side. This model came with 4 props, more than any model I've ever had. You need to supply your own 4xAA batteries for the transmitter but that is all. Comes with charger, instructions, power pack, wheels if you want to clip them on, and even a prop saver for the motor shaft if ever it needs changing (the props will keep flying off on their own). This model has a choice of two and four bladed props. The four bladed are like the real planes but might be more prone to damage when landing without wheels, so I normally display 4 prop and fly 2 prop. Normally. But it will fly great on either in my experience (I've flown these nearly 300 days). QC was a little suspect on this one as there were some areas of paint needed touching up. I found some red also later on. This has a 2D pilot who is white but of course the Red Tails are famous for their black pilots, so I plan to get a 3D pilot and paint him accordingly to match Roscoe Brown the actual pilot of No7. R/C Plane AeroScout On-board footage where I live. Calvertfilm 2024-07-02 | Flying essentially within my field area, I put a camera on board the AeroScout and pointed it towards my roof of my house. I know where it is. Also got a good view of the surrounding area from up there about 200ft. I managed to fly fairly close to myself and was very accurate. Landings were nice as this grass is short enough for that but the length did hamper take-off a little. First time I've filmed this area. Made for some fascinating footage for me. R/C Plane AeroScout on a Runway Calvertfilm 2024-07-02 | So tonight I decided to try and use a thin path as a 'runway'. It really is a little tight but I love a challenge. I landed earlier on this uncut grass and it bent backwards the nose wheel. It still turned but that meant it would be prone to tipping forward as I was about to find out. Of course each time it entered the grass area it would tip anyway, so it just got worse and worse. Finally when I did make a landing on the concrete it just immediately tipped forward and landed on its back. Luckily so far nothing has smashed and needs replacing. R/C Plane Mustang 400mm Molex 2P battery connector repair Calvertfilm 2024-06-27 | Molex 2P battery connector repair. This is what you put the 1S power pack or battery onto. After 102 times of doing this my wires became an intermittent fault around the plug. I tried using epoxy glue to hold it, which it did for a while but eventually came off. So I bought some Molex connectors once I researched and found out what they were. Found Amazon selling them for about £7 for several. Seemed the right size but be careful as some connectors look similar. I stripped the old wires so that gave me more to solder onto. These new wires are longer too and still fit in. Heavyweight Robot Mako - Trial Run 27th June 2024 Calvertfilm 2024-06-27 | Radio control Heavyweight Robot Mako - Trial Run 27th June 2024. This was my first proper practice session with this robot using Iron Awe 5 and a ball as targets, and vice versa. No flipping allowed as the area isn't secure enough for that but that's fine. Main thing was to get those driving skills up to scratch. I got good feedback. You judge for yourself. The robot is awesome. Gilbert and Rob have made a fine machine. Formally IA8 it has been re-branded as Mako after a Mako Shark. I really like the blue colour as this reminds me of my former robot Lightning from Series 6 and 7 of Robot Wars. R/C Planes Spitfire & AeroScout Crash/Repair on site Calvertfilm 2024-06-26 | Radio control planes. The 400mm Spitfire handled the wind like a dream and would even surf the wind at times. Flew really fast the other way.The AeroScout took me by surprise after flying inverted and just did not straighten up in time. I realised I had flicked it into intermediate mode and not Safe mode, so my fault it crashed. It landed in a bush and that may have helped although it got torn in lots of little places. Nothing broken luckily. It needed gluing with UHU glue in a couple of places. I let that touch dry and used it as a contact adhesive. Then touched up the black paint areas that had got scratched. R/C Boat Vector SR65 at Gorleston Calvertfilm 2024-06-26 | Radio Control boat Vector SR65 at Gorleston on 25th June 2024. Nice sunny day, still water. Filmed using an Ordro EP7 headcam and then edited and zoomed in and tracked using Adobe Premiere. Practised a few moves. I've owned this boat since 2021. The boat still feels solid on the water and only escaped me a couple of times. I got very near the wall at one point, the danger of heading inshore fast. I was trying to flip it at the time but the water was too calm to easily do that. I practised speed runs too around imaginary buoys, and that was fine. Warhammer World in 2024 Calvertfilm 2024-06-23 | Warhammer World contains various displays of Warhammer model figures and ships, tanks, buildings, and a load more. Many, many displays of modelling of the highest order. See Space Marines, Tyranids, Orks, Tau, Necrons and more all fighting in a variety of landscapes. There is also a gaming area, and a large shop containing some models you can pretty much only get here such as the large Forgeworld figures. R/C Plane 400mm Mustang (1) on 100th Flight day and a chat Calvertfilm 2024-06-21 | 100 flight days for this model that I got on 10 Dec 2022 and flew five times that year. 45 times in 2023, and now mid-2024 have reached another 50 flight days to total 100 days. Some days I do fly more than once, so in fact many more flights. If it averaged 5 mins per flight day that is 500 mins, so 8 hours 20 mins. Amazing. Made by SonikRC/Volantex and many more. Still looks good. I have touched up the paint (except the yellow and blue), Replaced some props as I fly low, so sometimes smash a prop (cheap). I also replaced the prop saver 4 times so on the 5th one but that has lasted since I stop changing the display prop for a flying prop, as that saves the prop saver from wearing so quickly. I have glued the foam when I split or smashed the nose area with UHU glue. (Note: On flight 101st the Molex 2P connector played up, so needs replacing). Here I review the model and see some others. I also mention the two great advantage this scale of flying has:1: Low and Close flying, to get some great shots and see the model without a risk of injury. 2: No crash anxiety. Just pure flying fun. R/C Plane Volantex 400mm Mustang - 88 to 99 Flights 2024 Calvertfilm 2024-06-14 | I did 6 flight days in 2022, 44 in 2023 and so far 49 in 2024. This means the plane is on 99 flights or to be precise flight days, as most days it has probably had more than a single flight. If I average 5 mins a flight, this has been flying 495 mins or over 8 hours. Still on the original parts except for props, prop saver (on the motor shaft) and paint. Also had to replace some foam her and there and repaint but overall it has amazed me how tough it is. This 400mm radio control foam aircraft is made by Volantex/SonikRC and it a P51D Mustang (1). R/C Plane Volantex Zero - Nose Job Calvertfilm 2024-06-06 | I repainted the aircraft (video on YouTube) and also the nose but the black tends to chip off. So my idea is to in effect dye it black using a permanent marker, then add a black wash (Nuln Oil) and then a black solid matt paint (Abaddon Black). Paints used are Citadel paints. Heavyweight Robot MAKO - Introduction Calvertfilm 2024-05-27 | Mako came into existence 24th May 2024. A high pressure flipper robot with a 1000PSI at its disposal. High speed and accurate control. Low front, great grip, a red interior and shark teeth. Driver is Laurie Calvert from Team Lightning (RW series 6 & 7), and team mate Carol new to the scene. Made by two experienced roboteers, this amazing machine has been built to enter Mech Mania. Name derived from a Mako Shark and it has colours to match. R/C Plane AeroScout On-Boards, all the angles Calvertfilm 2024-05-23 | Filmed on-board shots mainly using the Ordro EP7 held on by hook and loop (Velcro). Some of the shots were using the Ordro as a head camera too. Used hook and loop to cover some damage but it also makes great mounting point for the camera. Filmed over a few days now. Plane flipped over in the strong x-winds today, so I cut throttle and the pusher-prop was ok. This did at least give a great screen grab for the thumbnail. Today was not nice to fly in but I was determined to fly today to get these final few angles as the next few days I am doing other things. AS3X is a stabilisation system that this plane has, which is ideal for these sort of days. 10-15 mph gusts, x-winds too, not very nice. Even with AS3X the aircraft was everywhere. Still had fun. R/C Plane AeroScout - Look forward, rearward, over wing, under fuselage Calvertfilm 2024-05-21 | Flying around Phoenix club site, at Pakefield, near Lowestoft. Got some more unusual camera angles by using velcro to attach my Ordro EP7 camera. The other day I did over the front so used one shot from that. Today I did a rear view and the prop causes a nice pattern, over the port wing and the vibration shows up there, and underneath the belly and here we can see the main wheel move slightly as I turn the rudder. R/C Plane AeroScout - Rain, Low Passes, Figure 8s, On-board, to Cool Music Calvertfilm 2024-05-15 | The 5th flight of my 1100mm AeroScout is only my 14th large r/c aircraft flight as I did nine with the 1500mm Tasman. First flew 2nd Oct 2023. But I have flown 400mm planes over 200 times and they taught me to fly methinks. I bought this aircraft as the Tasman meant a lot to me and I wanted a plane I could chuck around. This aircraft fulfills that need and is easier to fit in my car. I had a dramatic crash a few flights ago but now sporting its new teeth you would never know. The plane didn't cost me anything more after the crash, so I spent time on it. Made it good again. Today I put on my old 10g key ring cameras but they are low quality and one only has short battery life. So after filming with the 50g Ordro EP7 headcam on my head, I then stuck that to the AeroScout. Pictures are much improved but this is a five-times heavier camera. I did try to use it remotely on my phone but the range wasn't enough, so just set it running manually. Just hope it doesn't fall off but Velcro does wonders. Weight of the camera did not seem to really effect this 800g machine. I flew tight around the landing strip as I was on my own. I could get good close shots and I did manage a couple of angles over the wings. I did place the cameras under the plane too but the batteries had died. Shame as the nose wheel would have been steering. Another time perhaps. I got wet but still had so much fun. Being on my own allowed me to concentrate and be daring. I was ready to duck behind the fence if I needed too. But the aircraft felt solid and predictable in the air. Rain on the plane and cameras but everything was cleaned and dried out afterwards. R/C Plane AeroScout Adding a Mouth and covering crash damage tips Calvertfilm 2024-05-14 | This is just my way of trying to repair and cover damage on a foamie model. Please add any other tips in the comments. I wanted to see if I could use Hard As Nails as a filler and so far it is staying nicely in place. It really fills the cracks well. But then paint needs to be lightly sprayed over so as to blend it with the natural foam colour. The final repair looked good but was then further improved by replacing the creased stickers. I could not get regular stickers so adding teeth. Now the damage is hard to spot and just looks like regular heavy landing marks.There is an earlier video on how I made the initial repair using UHU glue and Araldite Epoxy glue for the wood. R/C Plane AeroScout - The Big Repair Calvertfilm 2024-05-03 | The day I had always been dreading. To actually crash a large model aircraft. This is why I mainly fly the 400mm foamies as they are resilient. They gave me the confidence to try to fly too. Last year I got a 1500mm Tasman and have flown that 9 days (over 20 flights, 1.5 hours) but have replaced that for now with this aircraft. It had its maiden flight yesterday, and all was well. It was windy and again today. The wind caught me out as I made a fast turn (45 mph dive). As I turned the wind blew onto the model and it dived quickly. I had little height, so my fault. I had no gyro operational (experienced mode). This was my 11th large plane flying day with 2 hours flight time. I am still getting used to these larger aircraft. Incidentally I have another 40 hours with the 400mm foamies. So the repair begun just before 1pm and after 4pm just gone it was done. Fairly neat and all operational. Lucky I had no smashed parts to replace. Used UHU, UHU Por (flexible), Epoxy and Super Glue. Check servo and range after. Nothing was bent other than the foam. Music by JM Jarre Oxygene. R/C Plane AeroScout - Crash! Calvertfilm 2024-05-02 | My 2nd day flying the AeroScout begun with some lovely flying in tight spaces, and surfing the wind a little. Practised some landings as it is not as smooth as the larger Tasman. Then I put in a GPS speedmeter (please note speed was 72 kph or 45 mph) and begun some diving runs. On the second one begun to pull out but overcooked it. The wind was coming from the side and so affects the plane a little more, something I need to be aware of but it got pulled down and smashed! Crash 11:05am. Thankfully it was mainly nose cone cracks/ Nothing broken or lost. Battery seems fine. Servos checked and ok even against a resistance. Five hours later repaired by 4:05pm. Glued with UHU, UHU Por, Super Glue, Epoxy (on wood). Added some paint on canopy. Canopy was the most bent out of shape. Steering fine on my garden grass. R/C Plane AeroScout Maiden Flight Calvertfilm 2024-05-01 | The 1.1m wingspan AeroScout S2 is a great learner aircraft so I hear and I have to agree. Very docile and a pleasure to fly even in wind gusts into double figure mph tonight at times. The aircraft almost hovered and was nice to land with a little power on. Dropping down can happen too. Most of these shots are close up passes as the stunts I did were too far away - honest. Rolls, loops and a stall turn. I flew from 7pm to gone 8pm and the light was fading fast. Still I could fly fairly close with this plane. It has three modes and I tried all of these at times. Full control, partial movements on the sticks, and SAFE with more restrictions on movement and auto-levelling. I tried low (70%) and high rates. Transmitter features simple battery power telemetry showing four LEDs lit when full. There is also a BNF version that cost not much less, so I thought I'd try the transmitter RTF version. It was so easy to set up - just plugged it in! Yes I recommend this pane and also the Tasman. Specs: Tasman £700 for complete set up inc NX8 transmitter. 1.5m weights 1.8kg. AeroScout £225 plus you need another £80 say for batteries and charger. 1.1m and weighs in at 800g. A nice in-between model between the Tasman and my 400mm foamies. Music Invasion by Eat Static. R/C Plane AeroScout Quick Build Calvertfilm 2024-05-01 | Radio control plane from HobbyZone/Horizon Hobbies. This is 1.1m wingspan and weights 500g, 800g with the battery. This model is over the 250g weight limit. Simple construction as briefly shown here (refer to the instruction always). Make time about 20 mins not rushing. 4 channel r/c aircraft with tricycle undercarriage. The front wheel steers with the rudder. Whole tailplane moves, not just the elevators. They supply a screwdriver that is useful to complete. This is the RTF (Ready To Fly) version so came with that Spektrum transmitter as seen but it did not come with batteries or a charger. In case you are wondering I often paint my signature blue colour on a model as long as it isn't scale. Same colours as on the 1500mm Tasman seen briefly hanging from the ceiling (do so at your own risk) in this video. Fly safely. Power up transmitter first, and turn off last. R/C Plane Mustang Sport Cub (somehow found that prop) Tasman Calvertfilm 2024-04-23 | Mustang hits the 80 flight days mark. Fantastic achievement as it still looks smart and flies as good as the first day. Needed 4 prop savers so far, that's all, oh and some paint. So I did some close fly pasts, just because you can with these as they are very safe. Nobody at my flying field. Amazing plane. Then I flew my Sport Cub 500 which has now flown 4 years on the trot, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 although I only got it Aug 2021, so it is three this August. 27th flight. Prop came off at one point. Hard to see of course but I felt the power go and knew what it was, so followed the prop down then walked towards it. The plane I circled and landed using my peripheral vision. Found the prop straight away. Easy on this well maintained field. Gentle plane. Then I flew the Tasman. Just did some normal flying without gyro. R/C Plane XFly 1500mm Tasman On-board footage Calvertfilm 2024-04-23 | Put an old lightweight cheap camera on my Tasman and it got some half decent shots. It didn't fall off either and was held on with just two velcro strips. Plane performed well. Weather overcast, so not great, and the wind was diagonal on the runway. R/C Plane Corsair V2 at Phoenix Field in strong Winds - flying backwards! Calvertfilm 2024-04-22 | Volantex Corsair V2 400mm (63g) foamie plane using the gyro to offset the blustery winds. One app said 31mph and I felt it was 25mph myself at times, mostly around 20mph+. It is great fun flying in these conditions but I suggest starting with lower speed winds and building up. The aircraft is very fast and twitchy into the wind, stable with the wind. Slow into the wind, will hover or fly backwards, and then go really fast with the wind plus you need to give throttle. So you need to practice. I think this build up flying skills and reflex actions. Plus it is fun. Immense fun, something that this type of plane can offer in these conditions. I am now not afraid to fly in virtually any weather. The plane didn't crash all day and came home safe. Only plane that flew that day at the field due to the strong gusty winds. Music Opal by Bicep. R/C Plane XFly Tasman - How To Pump Up Tires Calvertfilm 2024-04-19 | This 1500mm aircraft has large air filled tires that may go down. So they need to be pumped up but how do you do it? Well in this short video we show you how thanks to my mate Gizz who owned one of these. You have to carefully remove the white plastic plug. Be careful. You can rotate it to free it but do not bend it or you might break the white plug. The Tasman comes with a metal adapter that you fit on your bicycle pump - push it in hard, then lock the pump lever to hold it in place and engage it ready to pump air. Then carefully slide the adapter into the hole in the tire. You will feel some resistance. Keep going carefully to get that into the tire. Then begin pumping to get the original pressure back, or until it looks something like this video. Do not over inflate, and of course make them equal in pressure if you can. Pressure is low. Remove the pump and adapter quickly so you don't lose air. Then wiggle the adapter to get it out of your pump. This can be tricky and take a bit of effort. Music from Bicep. R/C Plane FW190 Rescued From Tree Calvertfilm 2024-04-19 | The day earlier I lost my small radio control FW190 in this tree. Today we rescue it. My mate Anton was able to climb higher than me and the branches could be shaken more, and that did the trick. Well done that man. R/C Plane FW190 Abandoned In Tree Calvertfilm 2024-04-17 | My only poor flyer in radio control so far is my TopRC FW190. On this 11th flight it was to prove its final one. I think I launched it too quickly and the gyro seemed disorientated. Perhaps it was but for some reason the aircraft would not respond to controls and happily drifted right and then into a tree. Before that the flight was stalling at times when least expected. The wind although not too much was enough to induce a stall at times. Still the end was gentle, and it is stills tuck high in the tree now. I could move the motor and controls surfaces but it was stuck hard. And even if it did fall move branches would catch it. I three a branch into the tree and even that got caught. So I have abandoned this plane even though I can see it, so technically it isn't 'lost'. Gone nonetheless. R/C Plane Mustang REALLY Gusty Day Calvertfilm 2024-04-15 | Aiming for 100 flight days, so going up even when very gusty but the gyro does really well. Nevertheless it does take some effort from me too in order to not crash which I didn't today. Today was 77th flight.
