Hopefully this will give you a better idea when to expect them back in stock.Making a Finger Jointed Keepsake Box for Chess PiecesGot It Made2021-12-05 | I made this finger jointed chess box to hold some really nice House of Staunton Chess Pieces. It is made of ambrosia maple from @livingknotlumber. The chess pieces are a reproduction of the set used in the 1939 Olimpico Tournament.
I used my box joint sled to make the joinery. It has a raised panel top made on the router table. My Festool router was used for the slotting. Everything else was done on the Sawstop table saw. The finish is tung oil and lacquer. And of course, everything came together on my TrackTubes MFT work station.
Artist: http://incompetech.comMaking a Vintage, Aged, & Distressed Neon (LED) Sign with PlywoodGot It Made2021-10-31 | I love old vintage signs, especially neon signs. This is my first attempt at creating one. This one is made of plywood. I made it to practice and learn with. Now I am going to re-make this sign with a traditional metal sign box.
I used LED lights to simulate neon. I cut channels with the CNC router to secure the LED light strips. The LED’s stand off of the sign face and it really does approximate what a neon sign looks like.
Most of the aging and distressing techniques I used were learned from Wesley Treat. Check him out here: youtube.com/c/WesleyTreat
TrackTubes are high quality, anodized aluminum extrusions with integrated T-tracks. They were originally designed to be used with sawhorses (they even work with the Bora Centipede), but have many other uses, both in and out of your shop. Perfect for setting up a multi-function work station similar to the Festool MFT, used as router sled rails, or built into a workbench with DIY telescoping extensions for material support. The most common styles of track clamps like Bessey and others work well with the Track Tubes.

They asked me to build a bar shelf that would incorporate his initials "MW". In this video I document the process of building the bar shelf as well as the time and expense involved in doing it. Many of the techniques are straightforward but the angles involved required more advanced woodworking skills. I incorporated TrackTubes in the build for the work surface and for a necessary straight edge for aligning the shelves.
While I do not reveal exactly what I was paid to make this (that is between me and MWB Co.), I do give you some insight into how you might price a similar job based on time and expense by simply plugging in your own shop rate..... Please follow MWB on social media and come visit Bristol!

It is lightweight, compact, and deploys quickly. Perfect for most DIY projects, woodworkers, or folks working construction projects in the field.
Using the Bora Centipede in conjunction with TrackTubes makes it even better by adding rigidity to the workbench and raising the surface to a more comfortable work height. The TrackTubes Centipede Knob Kit allows for an easy connection between the Bora Centipede and TrackTubes. Once connected, you can easily attach a top like the Festool MFT style work surface using TrackDogs, Track Clamps, or 1/4-20 hex bolts and nuts.

This is a blend of traditional woodworking assisted by the Avid CNC Router. The materials used are hardwood cherry, baltic birch plywood, acrylic, and ABS. This was a great project to do in my woodworking shop, The Bristol Artisan Co, and it was a lot of fun. Please contact me if interested in having one for yourself.

While you can never exactly replicate the classic look and vibe of a neon sign with LED's you can get very close by using a quality LED light and a good font. I used the Avid CNC to engrave channels into 1/2" acrylic so the LED light strips would pressure fit into the engravings. In the end, this sign turned out great and looks as close to neon as I think you could ever make it.

Good lighting is imperative to me as a woodworker and a content creator who makes videos. I contacted American Green Lights because of their positive reviews and high quality lighting. I could not be happier with the results I achieved from the American Green Lights LED lighting package in my shop.

Unfortunately, all the old floor adhesive remained and it had to come up. I used a product called Sentinal 626 to make the job a lot easier. Sentinal 626 is a vinyl and carpet adhesive remover. It has no odor and virtually no VOC concerns. It worked great removing the carpet and vinyl glue.

The stool seat and backrest are an end grain checkerboard pattern using walnut and ash. That combination would make a very nice cutting board or chess board. The seat attaches with threaded inserts. In the video I demonstrate using a rudimentary arc jig to mark and cut the arc relief in the backrest. I also used a circle cutting jig on the bandsaw to cut the stool seat. http://www.redneckdiy.com facebook.com/RedneckDIY instagram.com/redneck_diy🛠 The Knuckle Dragger: How to Avoid Getting Germs and Touching Infected SurfacesGot It Made2020-04-10 | These days no one wants to hold a door handle, grab a shopping bag, touch a light switch, or touch a pin pad. We are all afraid of getting and spreading germs and viruses. No one wants to touch or get infected!
My solution is a tool modeled after brass knuckles that will solve all these problems. It will also be useful during a zombie apocalypse. I call the tool The Knuckle Dragger.
In this woodworking, metal working, and CNC router project video I show how I made it by cutting aluminum on the CNC router to make the body and using the band saw to resaw South American Bloodwood to make the handles with the help of the CNC router. I also demonstrate how to open a door without touching the handle, how to flip a light switch without touching it, how to press the keys on a pin pad without touching it, and how to carry a shopping bag without touching it.

It has been a very busy Christmas season with lots of Lonesome Dove Signs, growth rulers, and other projects going out the door. http://www.redneckdiy.com facebook.com/RedneckDIY instagram.com/redneck_diy🛠 Make a Keepsake Box in an Hour.... or TwoGot It Made2019-12-08 | In this video I make a very simple Keepsake Box from scrap walnut and ash. I make a lot of these boxes and they are a very good use of the scrap wood I have laying around the shop. Because of its size I can use scraps that aren’t really useful for anything else and turn them into something elegant and useful. This easy to make keepsake or jewelry box can be made quickly and is a lot of fun to make.
http://www.redneckdiy.com facebook.com/RedneckDIY instagram.com/redneck_diy🛠 Making a Cutting Board for the First TimeGot It Made2019-11-24 | I have been woodworking for a long time but I have never made a cutting board. I did make a chess board once (link to that video below) and that was similar process but I’m not sure why I haven’t ever made an actual cutting board. I see now how this can be an addictive project.
As with all things woodworking, it looks easier than it really is if you want to get good results. No mind blowing geometry or complicated processes here. This one is very straight forward and can be done in a day. It’s a celebration of Appalachian hardwood using walnut, maple, and cherry.
I realize there are a lot of folks out there who do this much better than I did. Please shout them out (and yourself) and leave comments, advice, and feedback in the comments below so others can benefit.

http://www.redneckdiy.com facebook.com/RedneckDIY instagram.com/redneck_diy🛠 An Easy to Make End Table - Shaker ElegantGot It Made2019-11-16 | This simple but elegant end table is made using walnut and maple to achieve nice contrast. The legs are tapered for an elegant Shaker style look. The top has a turn-down chamfer to add a classy look. The table also has a drawer with a unique handle I make myself. This side table is classy and elegant but not overdone. The joinery is accomplished using screw pockets (pocket holes). They are located in a way that they are never seen once full assembly is complete.
This is a project that is easy enough for most woodworkers to accomplish. If the tapers, chamfers, and angles are intimidating then substitute straight legs and a square top for a very nice classic Shaker look.
Plans will be available soon so check back for a link to the website where you can download.
http://www.redneckdiy.com facebook.com/RedneckDIY instagram.com/redneck_diy🛠 Making a Desk: Simplicity with EleganceGot It Made2019-10-27 | I built this desk to be simple yet elegant. It is made with contrasting materials of walnut and maple. There is a lot going on in this desk, from tapered legs, lots of angles, a beefy top, and contrasting lines. It is built in the mid-century modern style. The joinery is accomplished with a Festool domino joiner. I gained my inspiration from a dining table design built by The Wood Whisperer. I modified Mark's design to accommodate a desk. There is a link below to his build video.
