Kelly and guest Lynn Bell discuss traditional quilting in open spaces and around quilt blocks as would pertain to a quilt like Martha Washington by Liz Porter. Kelly wanted her variation to be quilted following her Halloween theme and chose to do an allover pattern with spiderwebs. She and Lynn discuss a different way to quilt that same theme. On Angela's quilt, her quilter, Marion McClellan, combined a variety of motifs in the different patches. Lynn shares her sketch for a variation of Washington Star and talks about the technique of ghost blocking, then demonstrates how to do a bit of that technique with a short longarm ruler and a chalk-drawn pinwheel block.
