The Waffen SS were the military arm of the Nazi Party until their defeat in 1945. Convicted of multiple war crimes and crimes against humanity, it was declared a criminal organization during the Nuremburg trials. That said, they pose an interesting challenge for a wargamer or painter, and their iconic equipment looks striking on the tabletop. Whether you're painting a mid-war SS patrol, a late-war hodgepodge of mixed troops and equipment, or even the Polish Home Army in captured German equipment, what might first seem a daunting task to paint the famed eichentarn camo is easily broken down into simple stages.
