This video tutorial will demonstrate how to knit 2 stitches together or 3 stitches together in one go, in order to reduce the overall number of stitches on your needles.
The k2tog is a popular single decrease which reduces the stitch number by 1, and the k3tog is a less common double decrease so reduces the stitch number by 2.
These are definitely vital knitting techniques for beginners to know :)

Note that these are both 'right-leaning' decreases, which means they appear to lean slightly to the right when you view them from the front of your knitting.
