A mega-explosion from a giant black hole may have created a string of star clusters.

NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory and a radio telescope were key in this discovery.

This eruption made a huge cavity in hot gas and is one of the most powerful ever seen.

Some of the gas pushed aside by the eruption then cooled to form the star clusters.
