Frequently, the power supply gets whatever board space is left over regardless of how impossibly small. Using Linear’s latest Quad Buck regulator, the (linear.com/product/LT8602) LT8602, you can have four regulated outputs in an incredibly small space. The LT8602 has two high voltage buck regulators with an input voltage range of 3V to 42V. It also has two low voltage buck regulators with an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V. The high voltage regulators provide output currents of 1.5A and 2.5A. Both low voltage regulators provide up to 1.8A of output current. The complete solution occupies only 4 square centimeters of the board area, 5 square centimeters with the optional EMI filter.
