I am 6 years old and have been playing the violin for 1 year and 10 months.
This video was recorded as my submission for Ray Chen's "Play with Ray" project.
I love watching Ray Chen's YouTube videos and am inspired not only by his amazing violin playing, but also by the way he shares the joy of music with people around the world. My dream is to become a violinist who can inspire others through music, just like Ray.
To be honest, I am not completely satisfied with this performance. I wanted to play it even better. However, the application deadline arrived, so I decided to submit the best performance I could give today.
No matter the result, I will continue practicing and working hard to improve.

Her reward for working hard at a violin competition was… another violin! 🎻💕 A 6-year-old violinist tries BANDAI’s Dream Lesson Violin. Real violin or toy violin — she just loves playing! ✨
Filmed on the same day as Azarashvili’s Nocturne, this is another piece she has long dreamed of playing — Monti’s Csárdás.
It has been almost one month since she began working on this piece, so we decided to record her progress at this stage.
From the expressive opening to the rapid passages, harmonics, intonation, and changes in character, Csárdás presents one challenge after another.
There is still plenty to work on, and this is very much a work in progress. We hope to look back on this performance someday and see how much the piece has grown along with her.
For now, this is our one-month progress report. The journey with Csárdás continues 🎻✨
🎻 Violin Growth Record | Vn_2y2m (Age 6y4m / 600h) 🎵 V. Monti: csárdás
This time, Amane took on a piece she had long admired — Monti’s csárdás
With its rapid passages, position shifts, double stops, harmonics, dramatic changes of tempo, and expressive demands, this piece was a little beyond her current level. She approached it by bringing together everything she had learned so far.
Many things that seemed impossible when she first began gradually started to take shape, and being able to perform the entire piece on stage became a valuable experience for her.
At the same time, taking on such a difficult piece revealed many areas where her fundamental technique is not yet strong enough to give her full control: accuracy in the left hand, stability in the right hand, string crossings, intonation, and the technique needed to freely express the music she imagines.
Rather than being a destination, this challenge helped us see more clearly what Amane needs in order to take her next step.
For a while, we will return our focus to building a stronger foundation — scales, fundamental technique, and repertoire that allows her to work carefully within her current abilities. The goal is to build the technical foundation that will one day allow her to approach difficult music with greater freedom and confidence.
We hope that when she returns to Czardas someday, she will be able to play it in a way that is very different from today.
We will continue to record her growth, one step at a time. Thank you very much for your continued support 🎻✨
This time, she took on a piece she had long admired — Azarashvili’s Nocturne.
She has not yet studied this piece with her teacher. For the first time, she worked out the fingerings on her own and explored how to play the piece independently.
From choosing fingerings and shifting positions to shaping the phrases and finding the sound she imagined, this was a new kind of challenge — not simply learning how to play the notes, but learning how to think for herself through music.
There are still many things to work on, but this performance is a record of an important step toward becoming a more independent musician.
We will continue to cherish her curiosity and love for music as she takes on new challenges step by step. Thank you very much for your continued support 🎻✨

Bach: Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043, 1st Movement (1st Violin) Her First Family Quartet
After more than two years of violin study and over 500 hours of practice, one of her long-held dreams finally came true—her first family quartet performance.
This piece is challenging not only because the first violin part includes wide leaps, frequent key changes, and intricate passages, but also because she had to lead three amateur family members—her older brother on cello, her father on oboe, and her mother on piano.
Beyond violin technique, this experience taught her many important aspects of ensemble playing, including giving musical cues, breathing together, and understanding how the counter-melodies interact with the main melody.
Unlike performing with a piano accompanist who naturally follows the soloist, chamber music requires her to listen carefully to all four musicians while maintaining her own musical line. It was a completely new challenge and an invaluable learning experience.
Although there is still much to improve, she is very happy to have taken on this challenge with her family.

We are honored to have received the Gold Prize and the Schubert Outstanding Interpretation Special Award at the Schubert International Music Competition, as well as 2nd Prize at the Cecilia International Music Competition.
With 1 year and 9 months of violin study, we took on the challenging piece “Introduction and Polonaise” by Böhm. This performance reflects our efforts in tackling many difficulties, including high-position shifts, intricate passages, and musical expression.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our teacher, our accompanist, and everyone who supports us each day.
We will continue to work through each challenge step by step and strive for further growth. Thank you very much for your continued support 🎻✨
This time, Amane tried a trending song for the first time. “Hatsune Miku – High-Pitched Voice Range Test” is an extremely challenging piece that requires very high positions on the violin.
She also wore a Hatsune Miku–inspired outfit to match the theme and make this challenge even more fun. This is her first attempt at this type of popular repertoire, and everything is still part of the learning process.
Trying new styles and genres is also an important step in musical growth. She will keep exploring and challenging herself step by step. 🎶✨

This time, Amane tried a Japanese classic song for the first time. Unlike fast or flashy pieces, this song requires calm phrasing and the ability to “let the melody sing” gently on the violin.
Playing slowly and expressively is often more difficult than playing fast passages. Learning how to shape long phrases, control the bow, and create a warm tone is an important step in her musical growth.
It is still a work in progress, but she is learning how to “listen” to her own sound and express the melody with care. Step by step, she continues to explore new musical worlds. 🌙🎶
This performance was recorded at the year-end recital, marking the final stage appearance of this year. After one and a half years of violin study, Amane continues to challenge technically demanding repertoire, including shifts up to higher positions and expressive passages.
This year was filled with learning, challenges, and many supportive encounters. With deep gratitude to her teacher, accompanist, and everyone who supported her journey, she looks ahead to the coming year with renewed motivation.
Thank you for watching and supporting her growth throughout the year. We look forward to continuing this journey in the year ahead. 🎻✨
🎻 Violin Growth Record|Vn_1y5m (Age 5y7m / 286h) 🎵 C. Böhm: Introduction and Polonaise
This is one of the most challenging pieces Amane has ever attempted — reaching up to 6th position and including the first appearances of harmonics. She is still in the middle of her practice stage, shaping each phrase step by step.
With four months left before the performance, she will continue polishing intonation, shifting, and bow control. It’s a long piece and technically demanding, but she is steadily building her foundation to bring it to the next level.
Every practice session brings a small improvement — and those steps accumulate into big growth. 🌸🎶
This performance was recorded for her first-ever online violin competition, where she received a Special Award. It was an important first step into the world of online competitions and a valuable learning experience.
She has been continuously working on Rieding’s concerto, deepening her understanding of the piece little by little. Through repetition, she is building stability, confidence, and musical awareness.
Each performance reflects where she was at that moment — and becomes part of her ongoing journey. 🌱🎶 She will continue practicing and growing step by step.
This performance marked an important milestone — her first 1st place award in the Preschool Category. Although the piece is still a work in progress and far from perfect, this experience became a strong motivation for her to continue learning.
At this stage, she is still developing intonation, bow control, and musical stability. Through continued practice and patience, she will keep refining her technique step by step.
This performance is just one point along her journey. 🌱🎶 She will keep working hard and growing with each challenge.
This piece was recorded after only two weeks of practice, so it’s still a work in progress. Despite that, Amane challenged herself to bring together what she has learned so far — intonation, bowing, and musical expression. From this piece onward, she began her third position training, marking the start of a new chapter in her violin journey.
Step by step, she keeps growing through every note. 🌸🎶
