At Burning Man 2024, Ukrainian military DJ Tapolsky played his powerful set near the "I'm Fine" installation, created by artist Oleksiy Sai and the team leader and producer of the art project, Vitaliy Deynega.
This installation became a symbol of the resilience of Ukrainians, showing guests from around the world the tragedy of the war. During his performance, DJ Tapolsky, a representative of the Cultural Forces of Ukraine, integrated recordings of the voices of his mother, comrades, and friends, who answered the questions: "How are you?" and "What do you dream about?"

You know how they say that a boring person is the one who, when asked “How are you?”, starts telling you how they actually are. And so the interesting person would just say “I’m fine”, which allegedly would be a lie. But what if it’s not. What if that “I’m fine” from someone who is clearly not fine means something deep and true for them.
It doesn’t mean things are easy. It doesn’t mean they stopped caring. And it doesn’t even mean things are how they are supposed to be. It means something more profound and important. It is a statement.
A personal decision to be fine, despite the really crappy circumstances. To stand up, roll up their sleeves and do the work that needs to be done. Of course they get tired, of course they need help, and of course they require both rest and healing. But they cannot just lie down and wait for those things.
And so they also need to be fine. That’s why they are choosing to be fine. And they are choosing to be fine right now. Now is all that there is: tomorrow is just an idea. And if today is their last day, yeah, they want to be able to say I’m fine, and actually mean it.
I’m fine is not to cover over for the things that are obviously not fine. It is to piece together happiness in spite of them — right now.

Report [ENG SUB]Ukrainska Pravda in English2024-08-22 | Russia’s full-scale war has brought Ukraine mass murder, torture, and the total obliteration of its cities. Now, in its third year, a few hundred or thousand Russians have experienced the war for the first time – or to be more precise, most of them have simply had a glimpse of it nearby. For two weeks now, since 6 August, bicycles have been the only local mode of transport. In the ten-kilometre-wide border zone, there is no electricity, communications or water, and the food shops are closed. Dozens of abandoned animals – from tiny cats to huge sheepdogs, huskies and even horses – roam the streets in search of water and food. Several dead cows are lying on the road, flies swarming over them. The worst destruction took place in central Sudzha, where the Russian army and security forces conducted defensive battles that damaged the local hospital, the community arts centre, and up to two dozen administrative buildings and shops. But more damage is being caused every day. Ukrainian soldiers currently in Sudzha say the Russian army has started bombarding the town with mortars and FPV drones. The locals are mostly hiding in basements. Watch this Ukrainska Pravda report to find out what Sudzha and its outskirts now look like, whether the local people understand why the Ukrainian army has entered their territory, and what exactly the locals want from the Ukrainian military.

Episode 5 – Chernihiv and Kharkiv on day one of the invasionUkrainska Pravda in English2024-04-26 | "Kyiv will stand as long as Chernihiv stands. As long as Kyiv stands, Ukraine keeps fighting."
This quote from Taras Chmut, founder of the Come Back Alive Foundation, captures the essence of the predicament of the Ukrainian defence forces in Chernihiv on the morning of 24 February 2022. Convoys of Russian military vehicles and hardware, stretching out over dozens of kilometres, are easy to spot on satellite images of Russian territory just the other side of the Ukrainian border on the eve of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
On the morning of 24th of February, all of that hardware was unleashed on Ukraine, where it was met by the 1st Tank Brigade, all on its own bar several smaller units. But somehow the Ukrainian forces were able to engage – and indeed stop – the Russian army.
The Kharkiv defence forces undertook a similarly miraculous effort to stop the Russian invasion on the eastern stretch of the northern front.

Episode 2 – The introduction of martial lawUkrainska Pravda in English2024-03-08 | While the military was preparing everything necessary to repel Russian attacks from several directions simultaneously, the state apparatus was involved in making decisions on the security of the country's top officials and wartime legislative decisions. One of the most important thing to be decided at the moment was the introduction of martial law in Ukraine and the announcement of mobilisation. In order for Zelenskyy's decree to be put into effect, it had to be approved by members of parliament, who were gathering for an extraordinary session.
Ukrainska Pravda publishes the second episode of the podcast "24.02: The Invasion Reconstructed". In this episode, some of the people who were most directly involved in these events recall how the Ukrainian government in Kyiv tried to maintain control of the country, how the first wartime session of the Verkhovna Rada (the Ukrainian parliament) took place, why the government left and where they went, and why the speaker of the parliament and the president spent a month avoiding each other.

Episode 1 – Preparing for the Russian invasionUkrainska Pravda in English2024-02-23 | 23 February 2022 seemed to drag on forever. It seemed like it couldn't get any worse. All sorts of intelligence agencies had spent the last few weeks trying to give President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the date when the full-scale Russian invasion would "definitely" begin.
These dates rolled by – 16, 19, 22 February – without anything happening. The night of 23-24 February was said to be the next possible date for the invasion’s start. But would it materialise? And if it did, what would it look like? What forces would be deployed? Would the Russians advance openly or continue the proxy attacks under the flags of puppet regimes in occupied eastern Ukraine of the past eight years?
Ukrainska Pravda publishes the first episode of the podcast "24.02: The Invasion Reconstructed", which tells about Russia's preparations for a full-scale invasion, Ukraine's preparations to repel it, and what happened between 00:00 and 05:00 on that day.

We delve into the ongoing lack of understanding of the significance of this historical figure. This episode investigates the russian aversion to anything associated with Mazepa while harboring a desire to appropriate the Hetman’s legacy.
For instance, the Lev (Lion) cannon, rushed by the russians to become a symbol of their empire, was left uncharged. Or consider the Pigeon Bell, awkwardly rescued and subsequently mishandled, leading to its ultimate breakage. Moreover, we examine why, even after 300 years, the russians can’t get over Mazepa.
