The Long Awaited I John 5:7 Debate! Mike Hollner & Mike Ferrando vs James Snapp, Jr. Write the Vision Ministry 2024-04-22 | Several notes on the I John 5:7 debate…1) The busy and packed slides were for the benefit of the audience to reference due to the extensive information in support of I John 5:7. I expected criticism on this because even Dr. James White complained about the slide presentation when he debated Dr. Thomas Ross (KJV vs. LSB debate) due to the extensive information on the slides. Scholars don’t like new and old information that does not fit their narrative. Viewers will be able to go back, and freeze frame each slide to check all the source documentation. Our intended audience will learn a lot from the source documentation in small print, thus the purpose for the packed slides was not intended to please the critics or the scholars, but rather for those that actually care about the evidence. Information rather than format is our priority for those seeking the truth, we care not about debate points.2) The Q&A I had for James Snapp involved some very important slides with much of his so-called manuscript evidence against I John 5:7, but due to technical difficulties I was not able to ask very valuable questions for the slides which were necessary to view the manuscripts. These questions along with some of the manuscript evidence will soon be presented online.3) I heard one criticism on the internal evidence for I John 5:7. We interpret Scripture ‘Precept upon precept, line upon line, here a Scripture and there a Scripture’ according to Isaiah 28:9-13. The spirit, and the water, and the blood’ in I John 5:8 clearly represents Christ’s earthly witness on earth, and we reject any mystical interpretation of this verse representing the Godhead in I John 5:7, for the ‘Three heavenly witness’ were already mentioned within the context of verse 7, not verse 8 which switched to the ‘earthly witnesses’ of Christ’s ministry of the Holy Spirit. Also, John’s terminology of the ‘record’ is very consistent within the full context of Scripture showing a cohesion with I John 5:7 and this unique wording by John is not found in Matthew, Mark, or Luke’s Gospel’s. 4) Our opponent is ‘Thou shalt use the Greek alone,’ and he completely let all the early Latin evidence for the verse go right over his head with the blinders on. We have Latin manuscript and church father witness even earlier then their 4th century Greek witnesses against the verse (of which have never been chemically date tested as truly being 4th century). Mike Ferrando asked our opponent, ‘where did the Latin come from’? of which our opponent can only revert to ‘it was made up’ without any names of scribes, dates, locations, or historical documentation as evidence. All the scholars have is pure speculation, thus the need to reject the Latin evidence (and church father witnesses) by any means. We even presented pre-Erasmus evidence of earlier Greek evidence for I John 5:7, but as the audience will soon learn, the evidence in the Greek and the Latin for I John 5:7 does not matter either, for the scholars will tell us which evidence is relevant. Scholars reject any notion that God is quite able to preserve a correct reading from the Latin when and where Greek corruptions occurred. Basically, they reject any providential work of God in using the Latin for I John 5:7 but will claim such preservation for other verses when it suits their purpose, showing their lack of consistency.5) Our opponent thinks ‘faith’ is arbitrary. This has a future eschatological connection as to how God is going to settle the Bible translation issue with the required ‘faith’ He is looking for in this end-time (Luke 18:8). The ‘faith’ and ‘providential’ aspect of this issue is the ‘Achilles heel’ of modern scholarship and we believe the Lord will soon expose this for all the world to see. FAITH IN GOD’S PRESERVED WORD IS NOT AN OPTIONAL REQUIRMENT IN SCRIPTURE!6) Our opponent admitted he did not do his own investigation into his list of Greek manuscripts against I John 5:7 of which Mike and I (that have busy lives also) have started along with some oversea translations, and we are finding holes with their evidence. Thus, the call for non-biased independent Greek paleographers to come forward for a much-needed systematic re-examination of the manuscripts.7) For the Christian in the pew that may not see the importance to debate over one verse of Scripture, we can tell you that in due time the importance of what we are doing will be better understood. Mike and I presented less than 10% of the evidence that we have for I John 5:7 and there is much more information to come out. This is a spiritual issue of which faith and discernment is required for we are talking about a book authored and inspired by the Holy Ghost. New Evidence for I John 5:7 in the Old Latin La Cava Bible! Write the Vision Ministry 2025-05-14 | Mike Ferrando presents new evidence from his Latin translator overseas of Jerome's Prologue to the Episles also being the the Old Latin La Cava Bible along with Codex F (541-546) mentioning 'unfaithful translators' omitting I John 5:7.Jerome says, "Just as these are properly understood and so translated faithfully by interpreters into Latin without leaving ambiguity for the readers nor [allowing] the variety of genres to conflict, especially in that text where we read the unity of the trinity is placed in the first letter of John, where much error has occurred at the hands of unfaithful translators contrary to the truth of faith, who have kept just the three words water, blood and spirit in this edition omitting mention of Father, Word and Spirit in which especially the catholic faith is strengthened and the unity of substance of Father, Son and Holy Spirit is attested.”The evidence of Jerome's prologue being in the Old Latin La Cava on top of Codex F is a double witness to the 'unfaithful translators' back then in omitting I John 5:7 along with the La Cava mentioning Arius the heretic (256-336 AD) in the margins is solid evidence.The La Cava is a representative of the Spanish type of Vulgate text, and presents a text derived from very Old Italian exemplars (aka the Old Latin/Italic before Jerome's time). This confirms our other evidence of God using the Old Latin in the preservation of His word due to early Greek corruptions. Based on the proper order from the Biblical criteria, we can in fact say that “NONE of these 500 manuscripts can no longer be considered a witness against I John 5:7” for they have all been corrupted in John's Epistle. But mainly, “The Witness of God is Greater” (I John 5:9) by witnessing the Spirit of God speaking to His Church throughout history to the authenticity of the verse. God promised to preserve His words, not manuscripts! That providential time of manuscripts 500 years ago during the reformation has come and gone. The word of God in our time was promised to be in a ‘book’ between two covers as the “Book of the Lord” (Isa 34:16). Herman C. Hoskier (1864-1938) made a profound statement in his ‘Codex B and its allies’ of which we should all take note of. He said, “Those who accept the Westcott-Hort text are basing their accusations of untruth….upon an Egyptian revision current 200 to 450 A.D. and abandoned [by the Church] between 500 to 1881, merely revived in our day and stamped as genuine.” We have the “witness of God” speaking to His Church throughout history. We have ‘a great cloud of witnesses’ (Heb 12:1) among hundreds of our brethren before us to the verse. We have ‘the witness of God’ in the internal evidence and the context of Scripture along with the Greek Solecisms without verse seven. All I am proposing is that when it comes to the dating of manuscripts and of the evidence within them, that it is time to go back to the drawing board with 2nd and 3rd professional opinions from those outside the Critical Text Camp. A quick review of the James White vs. Thomas Ross debate on the LSB Bible vs. The King James Bible. Write the Vision Ministry 2023-03-14 | A quick 15-minute review of the debate between Dr. Thomas Ross and Dr. James White over the LSB vs. The King James Bible.Point #1: The archaic language of the King James Bible is less than 0.02% of the entire Bible of over 775,000 words. Even if Dr. White was correct in saying there is a 'TON' (such as in 2000) of archaic words, it would still only be 2000 % of 775,000 = 0.258%. Thus, my analogy of gnat straining in a 'look over here' moment while overlooking much more important matters is valid in my view. In my view of the debate, Dr. Ross did entertain more important matters. Some of the words in Dr. White's list he misspelled, and some of them are in the LSB Bible, not the KJB.Point #2: The Revelation 16:5 and Ephesians 3:9 readings in the King James Bible are contextually correct and the internal evidence was not even brought up in this debate. Isaiah 28:9-13 in the KJV (for modern versions change this teaching) is the key to knowledge and doctrine and is often overlooked in textual debates. The Scriptures CONTEXT must be a priority, and textual matters must take a back seat as secondary. This is the 'PCC' guiding rule of 'Primary Contextual Consideration' that Isaiah 28:9-13 (in the KJV) teaches.Point #3: Modern text critics often act as if the Byzantine and the Received Text just fell out of the sky somehow in later centuries. The history of the TR/Byzantine text is often overlooked and not discussed in these debates. Dr. Jeff Riddle vs. Dr. James White on the Eph 3:9 fellowship reading with follow up enhancements. Write the Vision Ministry 2023-03-04 | Although this debate was several years ago, I am offering some new information on the Ephesians 3:9 'fellowship' reading in the TR/KJV. I believe Dr. Riddle would have expanded on the points in this video had he not had time constraints within the debate format. Explain Apologetics did a great job moderating this debate and my hats off to them. Below are some of my points.1) The Internal Evidence was not fully covered by Dr. Riddle due to his time constraints.2) The 'umlauts' (dots) pointing to Byzantine variations in Codex Vaticanus at Ephesians 3:9 (and in hundreds of other places with Byzantine variations) was not covered.3) The contextual considerations in the book of Acts relating to proper geography directed by God's Spirit was not covered.4) The Spirit of God in being specific towards certain CITIES and locales was not covered.5) And how these geographical locales relate to ancient papyri such as (p46) and other 4-5th century Egyptian manuscripts as shown in this clip.6) The faith issue is discussed briefly as it all comes down to what each individual believes both in the secular world and in the Church.7) A brief explanation of the question often asked, "Which T.R. edition"?Note: I do not claim the dots are umlauts at the end of Ephesians 3:9 but the umlauts are legit to the left of the verse according to Gravely's extensive dissertation as listed in his apparatus.

The allusion in the Didache is to one of the verses in the Gospels related to the coming of the Son of Man. Of course, it does not indicate which it is directly related to. The actual Didache Greek is more than likely from memory (by the writer of the Didache). However, what is important is that the Greek of the Didache demonstrates a familiarity with the ending of Matthew 25:13. That ending is what has been removed in the new bible versions. And moreover, the ending has a distinct Greek text which is in no other verse concerning the "coming of the son of man". Jefford does not see an exact match for the Didache allusion but lists the possible verses in the NT. Notice how his example of Matthew 25:13 is the "new bible version" truncated text. No matter, the fact stands regardless that the Didache alludes to the last clause in Matthew 25:13 which is the point after all. Jefford simply affirms our point connecting the Didache allusion to Matthew 25:13. - Mike FerrandoThat was Mike Ferrando's point. My point is that 'Lamps' is exclusive to Matthew's Gospel alone and exclusive to the parable of the Ten Virgins in Matt 25:1-13. 'Lamps' is specifically mentioned in the Didache thus being a very good 2nd century witness/evidence for the longer ending of Matthew 25:13 for "LAMPS" is ONLY mentioned in Matthew chapter 25 alone. Connet the dots.My friend James appears to focus on the majority of textual evidence for a verse such as the Greek witnesses for I John 5:7. But in this case Pickering has the longer ending of this verse showing 90% of majority readings. My opponent seems at times to enjoy pioneering new 'theories' over the manuscript evidence such as his '7th Century Anonymous Irishman' for I John 5:7-8 (in this case the Latin evidence), or his "Sepulveda Theory' for 'later scribes' adding the umlauts (dots) in Codex Vaticanus. In this case, in Matthew 25:13, he ignores the majority of textual evidence for his 'Y' Theory or one Codex with another imaginary scribe inventing the longer ending "probably" under the "influence" by somebody. Thank goodness it's not the 7th Century Irishman at it again. Made two statement blunders when I asked Bro. Snapp if he has a 100% certainty that the shorter ending is not original when I meant to say how certain is he that the longer ending is not original.Also, after talking with James, he did not mean that I was a 'divisive ignoramus' in the present tense but rather for me not to look back in the future and say so myself. I told him that was how I took it, so it was a misunderstanding on my part. When I make statements such as that I usually put in parenthesis (not saying this is you) for clarification purposes.
