Ride em Cowboy Level Commentary POC Joe Siegler 2023-09-30 | This is a short proof of concept video for something I've wanted to do for ages now. It's level commentary for my own "Rise of the Triad" level "Ride 'em Cowboy". It's only a minute of game play. I just wanted to try it out to see if it would work well at all, or if there was any interest in it. It's a total low budget production here. The game play comes from an Xbox Series X game session, the audio was recorded myself using the built in microphone on my iMac, and the whole thing was cobbled together using Apple's iMovie app. Total low budget stuff here, but it kinda works. Heck, I caught myself saying "period" at the end of one of the sentences - I'm so used to voice dictation on my iPhone! :)If there's enough interest, I'll do more of these for my own levels in ROTT.

This was on March 27, 1987 in Columbus, GA at the Magnum Opus Con II. Found this as part of a project where I was dumping everything on my 30 or so remaining VHS tapes from the 80's to my computer, and then I was gonna get rid of the lot. When I saw what this one was, I thought "that's gotta be late in his life", then I checked the timestamped date and went HOLY CRAP! I looked on Youtube and noticed it didn't seem to be on Youtube at all (in full), so up it went.The saddest part is he said "See you tomorrow" as he as coming off stage.Edit: I did not shoot this video - I make no claim that it was me that did this. I just found it on a 30 year old VHS tape I still had in 2018. Unlike some people who find lost Doctor Who stuff, I'm quite eager to share it with the public. ;)
Plants vs Zombies: Survival Mode (Pool - Hard) Lets Play Joe Siegler 2018-03-18 | I have a son with Autism who likes when I play certain games. One of them is Plants vs Zombies (the original one). In specific, he likes when I play a Survival mode called "Pool (Hard)". As I've played it a ton of times over the years, I've gotten pretty good at it and developed a strategy for beating the game pretty easily.Now given the zombies the game gives you after the first round are random, you're at the mercy of what you get from a random draw, but like 90% of the game's random draws are such that my defense strategy will cover everything unless you do something really dumb or you get something too early (like a Zamboni on the second round, which is a strategic problem).I can practically do this in my sleep, so I know this strategy works really well. Also, more often than not, I end the game with 9,990 (maxed out) money as well as 100% full defenses in place at the end of the game.Anyway, here's an entire game from front to back that I captured on my Xbox One with multiple 5 min segments of "Record that" spliced together. I made this for my son to watch on his iPad, since he loves the game so much, but I thought I'd throw out there to the world too.
Echo on an Amazon Echo with the Amazon Echo Connect Joe Siegler 2017-12-18 | I now have an Amazon Echo Connect. This is a device that lets you make and receive regular phone calls from your Echo device. Works pretty well.In testing it I decided to call myself to make sure it was working.I noticed however, the Echo device has a really weird echo sound (ha) if you call a phone that's too close to the echo itself. Check this video out. After a time, the echo effect started to sound like something from a Pink Floyd album.Also, the vibrations from the call made my cel fall over!

Rise of the Triad: This Causes Error Too Joe Siegler 2014-12-20 | This is a capture from the Rise of the Triad level, "This Causes Error Too". It came from the reject pack, and was the only level in that pack not originally created for Rise of the Triad: Dark War. It, like its original counterpart "This Causes An Error" was intended to crash the game. We thought the "I'm Free" graphic was silly, and we needed a way to show it in the game. This sequel level was done by me, and was basically you shooting a godball at about 150 characters in the game - you can take them all out with a single shot, which I loved at the time. I never saw a video for this level (saw several for the original), so I went and grabbed one as part of my ROTT stuff for the 20th Anniversary.
