00:55 - Good view on the debris-covered WTC Plaza with the Koenig Sphere, and on the eastern lobby windows of WTC 1, with at least two broken windows on the 3rd floor, where the large, inside-hanging posters are being blown out by the draft.

01:15 - View on the roof of WTC 5, including the eastern mechanical penthouse, containing an emergency power plant. Note the generator exhaust pipes on the roof.

03:51 - People jumping or falling from floors 92 and 93 at the east face of WTC 1.

05:15 - NYPD Aviation helicopter flies by at 8:59am.

07:02 - Engine roar of 2nd aircraft becomes audible before the crash and the explosion sound occurs at 07:07. Impact into WTC 2 (South Tower) actually missed.

19:49 - Molten metal is flowing/dripping down the north face of WTC 2 near its NE corner minutes before the total collapse of the tower. Also remarkable are the expulsions of white smoke that are followed right after that.

2:03 - The approaching aircraft finally caught on camera.
2:09 - UA175 crashes into WTC-2 at 9:02:59AM.

Looks like the videographer has moved to his previous location, the roof of an unknown building northeast of the WTC.

03:28 - Unknown basement-explosion/s eyewitness, escaped from the B1 level of WTC (exact location was not given).

04:55 - First "full" view on the twin towers from southeast. Church and Liberty Streets.

05:23 - Unknown Asian-American man says he heard two explosions, presumably during the 1st plane impact. This is consistent with the audio recording made by Ginny Carr from the 36th floor of One Liberty Plaza, about 300 m (~984 ft) away from WTC 1. 05:40 - Unknown male mentions, partially off-camera, smoke in a train station, probably the PATH station underneath the main WTC complex.

05:54 - Different recording take. A male person is listening to the radio set that is standing on car hood. The broadcasting radio station hasn't been identified yet.

06:44 - 2nd plane impacts WTC 2 (South Tower) at 9:02:59am.
Lights flicker briefly at the Burger King restaurant and inside WTC 4 when the plane enters the tower.

10:03 - FDNY fire marshals Jim Devery (left) and Ron Bucca (right) making their way on Liberty Street toward the WTC.
Bucca died later when WTC 2 started to collapse, killing him and Batt. Chief Orio Palmer, the first firefighters to be killed inside this building while inspecting the lower impact floors.
Devery has luckily survived by escorting the injured woman Ling Young from the 51st floor of WTC 2 all the way down to the street and then bringing her to an ambulance.

10:49 - Tilt upward on the both damaged and burning towers.

11:07 - Running towards the FDNY Engine 10 & Ladder 10 station ("Ten House") on Liberty Street, just opposite of the WTC complex.

15:40 - A group of firefighters on Liberty Street on their way towards the WTC.

17:29 - Inside the WTC Shopping Mall on the ground level, underneath WTC 5. PAPD Chief William Hall is approached by two unknown police officials, probably asking him to take Evan Fairbanks up to the PAPD Cmd. Center on the 2nd floor of WTC 5 in order to retrieve a copy of his video tape.

17:40 - Large crowd of WTC occupants can be seen escaping on the escalator leading upward to the WTC-5 lobby, then exiting it on to Church Street.

18:46 - Inside the PAPD Cmd. Center, including the two already seen police officials, some other unknown people, PAPD Det. Thomas McHale, WTC Director Alan Reiss, and PAPD officer John McLoughlin (19:37).

21:14 - People start to flee the scene just before the first signs of collapse of WTC 2 appear at 9:58:59am.

This scene was captured by other videographers too, like Joshua Good/Lentz, while focussing on the 98th floor jumper.

03:18 - Explosion at the WTC 2 (South Tower) after aircraft impact at 9:02:59am.

04:53 - 9/11/2001: Start recording of the already impacted WTC 1 (North Tower) at ~8:47:05am (NIST final timeline "Adjusted Time from Television Broadcasts). A column of dust and debris is moving towards southeast.

06:33 - Shorter video take, recording started at ~8:48:40am.

06:51 - Beginning of the longest video take (~8:49:43am through ~9:14:07am)..

20:06 - 2nd plane impacts the South Tower at 9:02:59am. The tower oscillates for several minutes after impact.
Part of the starboard engine can be seen flying out, leaving a white and spiraling smoke trail. This engine portion did damage a building at Church Street, bounced off from it, and finally landed at the intersection of Church and Murray Streets.

31:15 - New video take (~9:16:04am). Good close-up view on the damaged and burning east face of WTC 1. Fires can be observed on three floors: 95, 97 and 98.

31:32 - Next video take (~9:16:30am). Changed again to medium shot with both twin towers burning and smoking.

31:50 - The roof is covered in dust like the surrounding. Probably recorded after the 1st collapse or after both collapses. Interrupted at the end by a still shot while audio is running again.

32:02 - A mix of still and moving shots of 12 John Street roof (?), including some street scenes, perhaps shot the day after 9/11.

36:04 - First look on the destroyed WTC site with the smashed WTC 4 and a large chunk from WTC-2 east wall in front of it.

38:26 - Moving and still shots of smoking WTC-7 debris pile.

21:50 & 22:18 - Several people jump from the 95th floor between 10:06 and 10:07am (source: NIST), as the fire reached the west side and "pushed" them out of the west windows.

23:27 - F-15 fighter jet over New York.

23:44 - Dust clouds are rolling over West Broadway as WTC 1 collapses at 10:28:22am. Entire collapse was not captured. Oddly, audio is missing.

27:08 - Dust plume envelops the Financial District for the third time, shortly after WTC 7 totally collapses at 5:20:52pm.

0:10:05 - A slight outward kink is observable in the NW corner of WTC 1 between floors 97 and 98 (see at the long soot strip), recorded at 9:15:48am. PAUSE at 0:10:08. This condition of the upper NW corner went unnoticed by FEMA and NIST investigations.

0:18:30 - Good close-up view on the west-face fires on floors 96 and 97 near the SW corner of WTC 1 (9:24:13am).

0:19:05 - Close-up view on the impact hole at WTC-1 north face (9:24:48am).

0:31:23 - Reporter picks up the report about an allegedly incoming third plane (9:37:06am).

0:38:51 - First mentioning by the reporter about the Pentagon being on fire (9:44:34am).

0:53:15 - WTC 2 begins to collapse at 9:58:59am.

0:55:45 - Intense fire becomes visible on the 104th floor at WTC-1 west face near SW corner at 10:01:28am, six floors above the impact zone on floors 93-98. This was also noted by the reporter at 0:56:00 in video ("There is additional fire.").

1:02:45 - Camera is tilting upward to catch a F-15 jet flying overhead (10:08:28am).

1:13:03 - Pressure pulse at 10:18:48am pushes a high quantity of smoke outward from floors 92 (north face) and 95 (north and west faces) of WTC 1. A small puff of smoke emerges out of the south face windows, presumably on floor 93.

1:22:38 - Complete destruction of WTC 1 starts at 10:28:22am. WTC 7 gets hit by chunks from the collapsing tower at it's SW corner and western half of south face.

"On September 11th, 2001, I was living in Brooklyn and found myself close to the World Trade Towers as they burned and fell to the ground. * Foolishly close, I caught the collapse of the 1st Tower on tape, and was in a crowd of people that ran from and was caught in a huge cloud of dust. In this strange dust storm, I talked to a distressed man who said he was "the building manager", and caught a ride from a Peruvian good Samaritan back to Brooklyn with 2 Japanese girls who had been in the tower when it was hit. Camera rolling the entire time. 10 years later, I took out the tape and watched it again, and am sharing it with you.

* Q: How did it happen that I was there?

I woke up that morning in Brooklyn to the news that the World Trade Towers were on fire. An aspiring videographer, I grabbed my camera and caught what was probably the last train going into lower Manhattan before everything was shut down. When I got above ground I made my way towards the towers, the first of which buckled and collapsed within minutes of my arrival.

I was totally brash and foolish to be so close, to be sure - but in defense of my younger self, I left my house towards what I thought was a fire, and did not know about the planes until later - a fact might have clued me into the severity of the moment."

00:09 to 41:53 - Continuous video recorded by a fixed camera of Devin Clark, starts about 6 minutes after WTC 2 collapse.
Real recording time: Start at ~10:05:12 a.m., ending at ~10:46:54 a.m. (reference points for timing in video, 13:48, pressure pulse on lower impact floors at ~10:18:48 a.m., and 23:21, first visible downward move of the WTC 1 roof edge at ~10:28:22 a.m., subtracting 9 secs for blank lead-in).

13:48 - A "pressure pulse" (NIST wording) pushes a lot of smoke out of 92nd floor and 95th floor at ~10:18:48 a.m., at north and west faces of WTC 1, causing a fast fire spread on 92nd floor at across almost the entire north face.

23:21 - Visible start of WTC 1 total collase around 10:28:22 a.m. (NIST time). Dust clouds expanding across the whole Lower Manhattan, obstructing the view on WTC 7 north face for many minutes.

30:30 - WTC 7 starts slowly to reappear from the dust clouds.

41:53 - Video stops and rewinds backward. Then the frame freezes for a few seconds and finally disappears.

42:39 - Test card with the label "CNN NEW YORK" is being shown through the remainder of the video.

Resolution has been HQ dither upscaled to 1080p by keeping the as-released display aspect ratio (DAR) of 4:3, and video sharpened. Then video stream lossy compressed again by x.264 (2-pass encoding, average video bit rate of 50 MBit/s) and muxed with audio stream in MP4 container format in MeGUI 2515, before upload on YouTube.
As-released WMA2 audio stream has been decompressed and sent to lossless PCM audio codec/WAV format. Low volume on both channels has been normalized in Adobe Audition CS6. Audio track has been saved again in PCM/WAV. Then losslessly compressed by Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC) in MeGUI 2515, muxed there with video stream in MP4 container format before upload on YouTube.
